Does anyone else feel like a douche, using their iPad?

I used iPad and filmed my school movie project. That + iMovie worked perfectly... better than my classmates' traditional camcoder.
I think it all depends WHERE you're using it--so I can identify. When in grad school, I never thought twice about it.
But at the gym? (treadmill) Yea--I'd give a side-eye to those who did. (Headphones? Really? ....C'mon, son.)
Picture taking? Yea...side-eye. You know DAMN WELL that pic is as blurry as all get-out. We see that you have an iPad...go sit down somewhere.
It really depends on your location--and HOW you're choosing to use it--in my opinion...but you're at school--have at it.

put on a privacy screen protector and you are fine

But would it of not been easier and more efficient to use a smartphone or p&s camera that does HD video?
Smaller, lighter, more easy to hold, etc..
I literally could not care less what others think of me and my technology. This is almost as bad as that thread from a while back from the community college kid asking if iPhones had lost their elite status; gimme a ****ing break.
When I did it, my iPad 3 had space, my iPhone 4S was full
Can't film anything with less than 100MB of space left lol.
You know they had a lot of electrical problems right? Some people were being locked shut inside the vehicle.
i thoroughly enjoy being at Starbucks using my jailbroken iPad 3 with BTC Mouse from Cydia, with the Logitech Ultrathin BT Keyboard and Logitech BT Mouse. cute girls come up to me all of the time and ask me how i am able to use a mouse with the iPad. they ask to give it a test drive and i show them how functional the iPad could be with the ability to activate a cursor.
i've been approached probably a dozen times at this point, and got 4 phone numbers since i bought it on October 3. it's obvious when they are interested because after i show them the BTC Mouse app they will either still be sitting next to me at the bar table or will still be seated at my table. the ones who were just interested in the BTC Mouse app get up and leave.
so to answer the question, do i feel like a douche using an iPad? nope. i feel clever that i give girls an interesting reason to approach me so they feel like they aren't being too forward and they are also learning how to jailbreak the iPad.

See it's weird because I can see where you are coming from (a couple of years ago)
I got the original iPad before the tablet market took off. People thought I was bragging/arrogant when I would pull it out to use, but I was honestly just wanting to use it.
Now everyone and their momma has one so I don't feel ashamed at all haha

Funny you should mention that. IMO there is nothing more douchy than someone using one in public. People do come off as so showy when using them in meetings, coffee shops etc...
Well honestly, sometimes I feel less inconspicuous than I want to be when I whipped out my ipad (had a 2 and sold it a while back).
The mini should solve this, among other things. I'm very much looking forward to it now.
I worry about theft the most. Really don't care what other people think of me.
So many bottom feeders out there that steal to get what they want instead of working for it.
In fact this is the only reason I've even considered a iPad Mini, not as much at stake compared to the $700 iPad. Though $329 really isn't that cheap either.

Lol nah - I carried mine around all the time. Will carry a mini around even more.
I do think people who use their iPads as cameras are funny though

I saw a lady at the zoo holding hers up over her head to take a picture. I was just waiting for some one to run by and grab it.
