Does anyone else think 16 Gb is too small for an iPad?

I went for the 32GB iPad, but have only purchased 16GB iPhones for as long as I've been buying them. I thought I should have bought the 32GB 4s, but still have only used about 3-4GB on it.

With the iPad, I figured better to have more, but since it's my first one I have no idea to what extent I will use it. If I find myself getting tight on space, I don't mind managing my files. I've always preferred to keep my files manageable anyway as opposed to carrying everything with me.

My ipad 1 is 64G and until now, it never reach 12GB in storage..skip the ipad 2 and will getting the 32GB ipad 3 😀

Not really resale value is usually better with the 16gb, instead of paying more for the 32gb or 64 used most would rather get the recent model.
 
Eventually you're going to give in and pick up and iPad 3 with 32GB or even 64GB.... Being that it has become such a big part of your life the option of giving it up or cutting back on the usage is not feasible. And that is how Apple has come to have Billions of dollars in reserve 😉
 
I was constantly running out of space on my iPad 2 16 GB. I had so little space, that I could keep NO music on it and really had to watch how many games were on it. Interactive reading like Wired Magazine takes up a good chunk too, not to mention music. 16 GB is plenty on my iPhone, especially with iTunes Match, but it doesn't seem to be enough on the iPad, at least for the way I use it. I went with 32 GB for the new one.

Apple new policy is you can return any product (i.e., iPad) bought from eitheir an Apple store of shipped from Apple.com for full refund within 14 days of receipt. It can be opened and/or engraved, but a full refund will still be given. Apple.com purchases can be returned to Apple (free return shipping) or taken to an Apple store.

It is better only if they stay with the current scheme. But if the next iPad starts at 32GB, the 16GB base model will be worthless.
 
it really depends on your needs. I was wondering the same thing if the 16 gig was going to be too small for me. Then i looked at my 16 gig iPhone. I have about more than enough space on there. I have about 5 gigs free. I don't have a ton of music and really rarely transfer a movie to my iPhone.
 
For some reason, I ordered a 32 GB iPad, but have a 64 GB iPhone. Go figure. I guess thats because I want all my music on the iPhone. I wonder if that makes sense?

Oh well. I'm considering ordering a 64GB iPad. Just not sure. After all, in a year, there will be a new iPad to buy!
 
I downgraded from the 32 to the 16. I have book and apps, I mostly use the ipad for reading, taking notes in class, and streaming video. So 16 will be fine for me. I never got anywhere near 16 when I had the 32.
 
I bought a 32 GB wifi iPad 2 last year. rarely ever used 32 GB. right now I have 10 GB on it. I stream everything from my computer via the video app, airvideo, or netflix. I didn't see the point of spending another $100 on something I didn't use. Instead I bought this year the new iPad 16GB LTE model so I would have cellular data anywhere. I would rather spend the extra hundred or so on the LTE versus the extra 16 GB. I am sure there will be a jailbreak sometime this year and I already have the CCK and a 32 GB thumb drive that works. If I need additional storage I will wait until then to use them.
 
Have a 16G iPad 1. The storage runs pretty tight. Had to remove some games to get others on. My kids always like to try new ones.

This time, I opted for a 32G. Just in case. My wife will be using the iPad 1. She doesn't care about the storage or the screen, as long as it's good for video streaming.
 
I've come back in this thread to say that I'm glad I went with the 32gb over the 16gb in the end.😀

I've just checked my usage, I'm down to 8gb. And that's just pics, apps and a couple of mags.
 
i have the 16GB iPad 2 wifi refurb. i only keep a handful of movies on it, everything else i stream to it via the Pogoplug app (all i need is a wifi connection and i can stream my entire moving collection). i keep all of my music and podcasts on my iPhone 4S (32GB).

so far i have used 10.6GB with about ~ 2GB of apps and the rest movies
 
My original iPad 1 was a 16, and I ran out of memory after a while. I bit the bullet and got a 32 gig this time and I'm glad I did. I have everything on it and over 14 gigs free.
 
For the iPad 3 I settled on 32GB as it's the happy medium for those apps that are larger in size due to supporting the Retina display. If you download a few games and don't have lots of videos or movies or music then 16GB should be more than enough.
 
Everybody uses the iPad differently.

16 is plenty for some, heck 8 would be plenty for some, and some need a 64, it's dependent on you.
 
I would have certainly bought a 128 if that was available...I keep a lot of movies on my ipad and this is mainly because I travel a lot and never know what I may want to watch on a particular night....and if I travel with the family, then I have to load up all the kids movies to boot...I know they got all these wifi drives and different ways to get your movies, but I dont want to rely on internet I rather just start watching a movie....
 
My iPad 2 was 16gb and I didn't mind app management to conserve space.

But, I have to say, I LOVE not having to do that anymore on my 32gb new iPad 🙂
 
I bought a 16 but now wish I had a 32. I only used around 4GB for the first month but then started buying more apps that I wanted to leave on permanently such as Garage Band (over 1GB....totally ridiculous). I still don't NEED 32 but would like the spare room.
 
Does "16 GB" mean 16 GB of useable space for the iPad? Or is <16 Gb left out of the box since some of it goes to the OS, etc?
 
Weird, judging by people's responses here, one might conclude there is a market for each of the sizes apple offers. What a coincidence... 🙂
