Does anyone keep their old phone?

I'd absolutely advise you to keep it. If you go somewhere where you need a reliable phone you might want to bring your 2nd phone along.

This makes no sense what so ever. So your main brand new iPhone isn't going to be reliable? I also can't see any situations where you need two phones.

For example, some people when traveling abroad getting local sim card for cheaper call & data usage, but still would like to keep their main number active need second phone...

I always think about selling them, and never actually have.

They end up playing iPod duty around the house in various docks, etc. The newest old phone sits in a drawer as my current backup.

Maybe next year will be the first year I actually trade my phone in or sell it.
