I reported in a post a few weeks ago how my screen turns really pink in direct/indirect sunlight. I had the new iPad for over a month, and I was pleased at how even and white the screen was (week 17, DY prefix). When it finally got warm enough to sit on the deck outside, I was shocked at how the screen turned completely pink.

When I saw this post I figure I would make a side-by-side pic of my iPad in artificial lighting and sun light. I got out the camera and took the inside shot; however when I went outside, the screen was still perfectly white?????

So now I think it has to be sun light under certain weather conditions. This morning the sun is shinning with some clouds. We had a heat wave for about a week. Last night there was rain and thunderstorms and the heat wave is over. Not sure if that has anything to do with the light spectrum responsible of the pink screen.

I'll keep checking for a "pink screen" day and take a pic.

It's a different grade of glass used on the iPad's that's causing this, hence why it dosn't affect everyone's iPad. My iPad is the same under direct sunlight, but my first one (that I exchanged because of dust problem), wasn't.

Basically, it's luck of the draw ;)

Why is my iPad screen perfectly white in the sun today and was super pink the last time I used it outside? You may have experienced the same phenomena I experienced on two different occasions. The day you checked your first iPad (before you returned it) could have been a "non-pink day" for lack of a better explanation.

I'll have to start paying attention to the daily UV index.

Mines more blue then pink, I think they all seem to suffer somewhat from colourshifting. Does the retina mbpro suffer the same issue?
