I think it is pretty rude.
People are entitled to their own opinions, but doesn't it bother you?
They simply don't know how much more reliable and logical the Mac experience is. Right out of the box, it's far easier to learn than a PC.
I meet ignorant PC users all the time. They make comments based on what they think of Apple without ever having used/owned a Mac. They just spout out famous one liners like, "Macs are toys", or "Macs are not used for business".
There are other areas of my life where I hear people making strong comments, without any experience. Plenty of people are mystified of my endeavors in law school/MBA school and have the strangest misconceptions about what it's all about.
Also, being a minority, I hear some of the craziest comments and unless they are in my shoes, they are just guessing and usually guessing poorly.
So like MBA/law students or racial minorities, us Mac users are in a very small group of people that are easy to target with stereotypes.
I did once hear a comment about Apple being that iPod company. At the time, I saw Apple as that Mac company. But based on Steve Jobs' latest Macworld interview, the public sees us as the iPod/iTunes and iPhone company and its an area where our market share is #1. So if people don't see Apple as the Mac company, that's fine, since gazillions in iPod, iTunes, and iPhone "net" profits are having the company laugh all the way to the bank.
