Yeah there's a comma. What is he talking about? Auto Grammer Correct?

Yeah, I just looked it up to be sure, as I'm a big comma guy (can you tell?). It's right next to the "M" in the image:

Getting back on topic, I've always found autocorrect an irritation. In word, it capitalizes and does other things I don't want it to do. On the cell phone, it strings together a pile of nonsense every time I try to use it.

Just turn it off and proofread.

I wish you could turn the auto correct off but keep the red underline on misspelled words.

Or is this feature supposed to be in OS4? I haven't really been paying attention to what is supposed to be in the next OS version.

My biggest frustration with this is the correcting of "id" to "ID" instead of "I'd". How many times does "ID" come up in emails vs. "I'd"???

And I'm sure you all already know this but for a quick apostrophe, just flick up on the comma key. It at least makes it easier for typing out "I'd". :D

I love it, especially on the iPhone. But if you don't like it, then just shut it off. What's the big deal? To each their own. As for contractions just swipe up on the ",/!" button for a quick and easy apostrophe... Very smart of Apple.

i just wish there was a way to customize the autocorrect like in most word processors. or to add and delete from the library. etc. i personally don't care if my 'i's are capitalized, but i want "hell" to be "hell" not he'll. etc. and let me swear ffs.

I've experienced some of the problems you all have been speaking of, but then again, both my typing and spelling skills are so below par, I find the auto correct, auto guess and spell checker quite handy.

The sporadic capitalizing/not capitalizing of "I" drives me up the damn wall. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. I REALLY hope Apple patches this in a firmware update..

Come on, Apple!

The only time it gets on my nerves is when I have it docked with my keyboard. I think it should auto-disable itself when you are using an external input device.

I thought I remember seeing an ad early on that the auto-correct learned from us. So, if it suggested, he'll for hell and we taped the x it would know after a few times we are fond of hell. ;-)

A nice enhancement would be to have it prompt us after two turned down suggestions on the same word. "Don't give me this hint again." or something like that.

What if we use he'll and hell similar amounts?

Sometimes when it corrects somthing I wanted to type in. :) other than that I think it's pretty handy most of the time.

The best update added the the OS was turning it off. I used to change to a foreign keyboard setting so it would not correct me.

I think this is the one that irks me the most as well.

As for turning it off -- yes, I know it can be disabled. I don't think that is a solution to bad suggestions, wrong corrections or just not correcting at all!

I posted this "I" issue a few weeks ago. It sucks big time. The autocorrection lags if you type fast. Hopefully to be addressed in an update soon.
