Did anyone verify they wont be shipping til October? I ordered mine shortly after 3am EST and it still says backordered. What a bunhc of crap from BH if so.
I have Informed Delivery from USPS, and have a notification that a package's label has been created in Brooklyn, NY. I ordered the SS SB 44mm Friday morning, so I'm pretty sure this is the watch. I'm in no rush for it, just glad I saved $70 in tax.
So I just called and it looks like the royally screwed everyone over. The gentlemen on the phone told me they won't be getting a shipment til Oct 4/5 so nothing will get shipped before then FWIW. Unreal

Well you're a UGA fan so I can't really take your opinion seriously hahaha jk. But when you say shipping 9/21 on your website for a week now and don't plan on shipping til Oct 4/5 and plan on closing for over a week next week I'd call that extremely misleading. If you aren't going to have stock and aren't going to ship don't advertise you will. I could have made other plans.
I 100% agree. Don’t say shipping on the 21st of you aren’t actually shipping for 2 weeks. Especially when that two week delay is self imposed.
I'd be interested to see how much of that holds up, especially since the genesis of all of this is some CSR for the company who likely doesn't know. Surely they will have some stock to ship out for delivery tomorrow, but I'd imagine it's also limited. I ordered mine from a 3rd party as well (Target) for 9/21 delivery and got an email today saying it had been shipped.
I know Apple hoards most of the release day stock for themselves, but someone the size of B&H should still have some to get out as well. How much vs. # of pre-orders is the main question.

Those are fair points...I ordered at 3:30am EDT so maybe I'm overreacting and will get a shipment notifcation soon!

I ordered 40MM Aluminum GPS Sport Loop on 9/14 at 3:36AM EDT and this is what I was just told via chat:
Me: Will the watches be in stock? I ordered at 330AM EST on 9/14...I had to be one of the first orders

I got Ian H on the chat too and he said my order is set to ship on 9/21. Not sure whether that's specific to my order per se or just a blanket statement to anyone who asks.

I've been hearing that the SB SS model is in low supply and that's the one they just told me won't be received till 10/3. Despite ordering at 3:04am ET.

Also does anyone know if B&H has a preferred shipping method, or just whatever's cheapest? I'm assuming it's not USPS for me since it won't be arriving on the weekend (they promise 1 day delivery to DC):

I ordered the 40mm SS with white sport band. It isn't listed as a top seller or best seller on the website (most of the 44mm space gray variants are), so maybe that's why? It's all speculation at this point though. Really hoping it ships tomorrow. I wouldn't mind a Monday delivery but if it delivers Saturday that would be best.
I had Koby tell me the same thing, I ordered a 44 SS in the afternoon of the 14th.
I've ordered from B&H before (but not for a pre-order product release), and they typically have 2-day shipping as their default option. Ground shipping is $13, 2-day shipping is free. So it's complimentary, essentially.
Add me to those who were new customers to B&H who will never shop with them again.
Just spoke to CSR who confirmed they are closed from Sunday at 5 through October 2.

I don't believe they ever promised launch day delivery a la Apple. The product pages have all stated "start shipping on 9-21" (they've now been changed to first come first serve). And the order confirmation email clearly states "Your order will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis." There is no guaranteed date whatsoever (or even date range) on the order confirmation email. You could have cancelled at that point and pre-ordered somewhere else. They also make it very straightforward to cancel if you want.
I think it's wrong to slander a retailer like that.
I just started a thread about this. I’m so annoyed that B&H didn’t give ANY notifications that their shipment dates are so far out. Why do I have to CALL them to find out? Plus they charged me the whole cost of the watch upfront. I am hoping my thread will help raise this issue bc a lot of people believed they would get their preorders by 9/21. I cancelled my order with them!
I'm also minorly miffed to see the inconvenience of their holiday around the time of Apple's launch for these products, but it is what it is. It's stated as a major banner on their website as I was doing the order process, so I'm aware this would potentially cause a delay. Nothing that could be done with them being closed around the time of the release date. You are simply putting in a spot to get the device when it's actually fulfilled.

This part I am a little bit annoyed about, as I'd prefer it charged when it's actually processed or shipped. I am also aware that pretty much all pre-orders are a purchase for the product ahead of time, and usually they do charge during the pre-order, regardless of when it ships.
I think people are blowing this out of proportion.
I saw a banner about Yom Kippur when I ordered, but not about this week+ long holiday. I figured it would ship out tomorrow or early next week. Now assuming it doesn’t ship out tomorrow the earliest it’ll ship is the end of the following week. I realize we are very much in the realm of “first world problems” but it was incredibly deceptive of them to hide the big holiday break from people. I would have likely kept my bestbuy order had I have known that I was realistically getting it second week of october.
