Seriously? A lawsuit? Phones with either chip meet the listed specs.

Variations in manufacturing processes can create two chips from the same manufacturer that have different power draw. You're making a big deal over almost nothing.

different power draw, we are talking about 1-5% different, that is ok. 20-30% different? Anyone can accept 20-30% different of the main function: battery life?

from apples tech specs page
Chip :
A9 chip with 64-bit architecture
Embedded M9 motion coprocessor

Power & Battery
Talk time: Up to 24 hours on 3G
Internet use: Up to 12 hours on 3G, up to 12 hours on LTE, up to 12 hours on Wi‑Fi
HD video playback: Up to 14 hours
Audio playback: Up to 80 hours
Standby time: Up to 16 days

No specific manufacturer listed and "up to" battery expectations.

What part of this gives you grounds for a lawsuit?

Where are you getting 20-30%? The post from yesterday with a sample size of 1? You do realize that means basically nothing, right?

Just because they are selling the same product but with total different 2 version with total different battery life. In a lot of country, that is already a potential lawsuit.

Not if both of them meet advertised specifications, it wouldn't be.

ETA... You can sue anyone for just about anything. The question is... How likely are you to win, and is winning going to be worth the trouble of suing. You would be unlikely to win this "potential lawsuit", and the payoff would be minimal. So go ahead and start your lawsuit, if it's that important to you.

How about can I exchange a new phone until the phone is with TSMC chip?

I hope you do get an exchange with a TSMC chip. ....aaand a big, black, Chinese hair under the screen. You are really taking the time to post online about something that you would have NEVER FREAKING EVEN NOTICED if you weren't trolling these forums looking for something wrong with your (wife's) new device.... give it a rest. Right now, it's a dumb clickbait headline. Apparently, you didn't stop at just clicking on the article. Wait until it BECOMES a problem before you address it.

Base on your theory, why do you buy 6s but not 6? I am sure you cannot tell the different if I don't let you see the back of the phone.

This reminds of those threads from a few years ago people flipping out over the rMBPs with the Samsung and Sharp displays and wanting to exchange until they got the Samsung ones. Always good for a laugh.

Is there any conclusive evidence of this 20-30% difference in battery life? Because last I heard it was based on a sample size of 1 unit for each chip, and now people are losing their minds over it.
