Haven't posted in here so don't take this as a fly-by troll job.

I was in the Navy. I have heard and spoke every cuss word known to mankind.

I'm so use to it that I find myself trying hard not to cuss. I've got better at it over the years since I lost my appetite for it.

Depends. I don't like hearing people swear in general conversation - like it's just part of their lingo, no aggression or reason to say a swear word.

If it's used effectively, or even in wit, then I've no problem. But I generally think people who swear in general conversation are most likely to be poorly educated, and will be unable to have a decent conversation with, displayed by their lack of vocabulary.

I must say, my excellent verbal scores got me into top schools, yet I do swear often. I do, however, moderate my choice of words to suit the social setting.

For me, it has a time and a place. I can hold my own with a bunch of drunken sailors, but when you don't use them casually the impact when you do is so much more impacting.

You can insult and offend many people without using a single cuss word. It's not the words it's how you use them.

I don't have a problem with swearing, but it gets annoying when someone is swearing at the wrong time.

I'm a sailor and my dad was a sailor and he's currently a truck driver...so yeah. We do have very colorful language...but I do my best to keep it away from the little ones.

Excessive swearing simply demonstrates a lack of language skills. Unfortunate, but becoming more common all the time.

It offends me when used in inappropriate company or surroundings. If you don't already know what those are, you won't understand why you shouldn't swear anyway, so I won't bore you with specific examples.

That's fine. Maybe I should have been more specific: you're in public, and someone near you can only speak in sentences with that are usually accompanied by a swear word. It's very common in Scotland for the scum to talk like that (neds/radges).

I'm not offending by swearing, however when it comes out of the mouths of six year olds, I have to correct them.

I do swear, when the occasion calls for it, in general I don't.

There has been a lot of discussion about whether or not it's a sign of stupidity, and lack of understanding of grammar, but swearing and swear words are part of an ever expanding language. Used properly, they can be powerful, used all the time, they become boring.

Excessive swearing really bothers me.

I let out the occasional F-Bomb etc, but I generally don't swear after every word.

no it doesn't, but when people need to put in a swear word every couple sentences, that's a little annoying.

I picked no, but it really depends on the situation. It doesn't offend me in a private setting when around friends and some family members, but in public places I find heavy swearing really trashy.
