I think it looks fine and I personally love bigger watches. I just moved from 44mm to 45mm Apple Watch and I like it. As long as its comfortable that is what’s important. As long as it feels fine in the next week me days I wouldn’t get a 41m. It’s just too small. Here are come pics of my new 45mm

My .02 this looks a bit big. But if you like it... Really the watch face shouldn't be wider than your wrist to the OP's original question. If you can't see a reasonable amount of your own wrist above and below the top and bottom of the watch face, it's probably too large, exp with an Apple watch. Might be more forgiving with a traditional circular watch.

I have a 7.25in / 184mm wrist, which I always thought was small (or at the very least, medium), but apparently all info I keep reading says I should go for a 45mm AW instead of the 41mm case. I wonder how they look on a wrist that’s my size and if the 41mm would look too small.

The watch looks fine, but you might want to loosen your band a bit.

It's a bit tighter than it needs to be which is actually making your wrist look narrower than it is (which could, in turn, be contributing to your doubtfulness regarding size).

Looks fine I would say you could even go bigger with your wrist size but it isn’t an option, my 45mm covers most of my wrist and I love it.

Youre on the larger side. Im 170mm and im 'inbetween sizes', so if my wrist was any bigger i would of definitly opted for the 45mm. But, youll never know unless you go try them on.

Just checking in because the new sizes make me a bit nervous. I'm rocking a Series 4 44 mm and still waiting for my AW7 45 mm to be delivered.

Never had any issues with the 44 mm model on my 175 mm wrist. I recently tried on a 40 mm AW SE and it felt super small and a bit bulky.

But now I'm wondering if the 41 mm model would also be a great fit, especially with the smaller bezels and the larger display.

Would do you guys think?

Got my first Apple Watch ever - managed to pick up a 45mm gold stainless steel with dark cherry sport band yesterday.
Loving it so far, such a great experience and the gold stainless steel case is beautiful.
I’m only concerned about the size: it feels comfortable, but I’m not sure if it looks weird or not.

What do you guys think? Should I return it and get a 41mm instead?View attachment 1867623
Looks fine 👍🏼

Hi everyone.

I’m currently rocking the AW3 42mm in Space Grey and it fits me nicely. Decided to upgrade to AW7 and have now purchased two 45mm models — SSS and SSG. I need help with the decision process, mainly to answer the following questions:

1. Does the 45mm look too big on my 178-179mm wrist? Should I opt for the 41mm instead?
2. Which model — SSS or SSG — suits me better with the bands I currently own?

I took a ******** of pictures (sorry!) from multiple angles to make the proportions look more accurate, but they are still a bit all over the place. Just remember that the watches do wear slightly smaller than they seem here. Also, I used the S/M bands in most pictures, but a few were taken with the M/L bands, which affects how they look on the wrist.

Right now I’m kind of leaning towards the SSG as I feel the SSS makes the watch look even bigger on my wrist. But then the PVD coating on the SSG worries me. And I would have to put the Classic Buckle for sale. If I were to downsize to 41mm, I would have to sell all my bands AND buy new ones.

Here’s all the watches and my current band collection — from left to right: 45mm SSG (42mm Ocean Blue sport band), 45mm SSS (42mm Lemonade sport band), 42mm AW3 (42mm Black sport band) and 42mm Classic Buckle band in Midnight Blue. Additionally, the SSS came with a Starlight sport band and the SSG with a Delft Blue sport band.

SS Silver  Watch for me, can’t beat that shine, looks more premium. ?

I’d go with the 45mm, looks like a good fit on your wrist.

Hi jz0309, it’s a bit of a difficult choice this time, but I will of course make the final decision. ?

Pennypacker, some great photos, but can you go back and delete some of them?!

Your question (about sizing) got lost amidst them all!

It also means it takes ages and ages to scroll down through the thread.

Now, if you're looking to be a wristwatch model and these are your portfolio entries, that's another matter! Some of those look like Apple magazine-type ads! ?

Hah! I don't know about that, but deleted quite a few. Hopefully it helps a bit.

Thank you all for the comments. I ended up going with the SSS, not because the majority here voted for it, but because I felt it fits me the best after actually playing with the watch faces and receiving my latest sport band purchase — the Capri Blue. I was also a little worried about the PVD coating and that scratches could not be buffed out. Again, thank you all.
