I think it looks good too. Your wrist looks very similar to mine, maybe a bit smaller judging from the first pic, but it’s tricky to tell from the angle.
But as others have mentioned, it matters only if you like it or not.

I remember I was unsure in the beginning also, but I personally like the bigger size compared to the S4 I came from, and also the bigger battery it comes with, so no regrets here, but I wish it would last at least a week lol.

Way too big for my wrist but the battery life can’t be beat.

Looks good to me, but I don’t usually care what others think of my choices. Get it if you like.

Looks great. I have fairly small wrists too - you won’t notice it after a few days. Your only regret would be buying it before the new model is launched in a few weeks.

edit: although mine won’t fit under a slim formal shirt cuff - which is why I have an Ultra S1 and a stainless steel Aw9…

Truly terrible of Apple to hand buyers the ultimativ of picking between Watch with bad battery life but good size and style, or Watch Ultra with good battery life but terrible size and style (for most).

For all that this year's new Watches will bring, I hope a redesign of the non-Ultras gets them a battery life that's close to or identical to Ultra 1 and 2.

They do make smaller watches.
Do you ‘need’ the Ultra?
I currently have a 41mm series 7 watch, but looking to upgrade to the Ultra 3 when it comes out. I do long distance running and hiking, and the extra battery life on the Ultra would be great.

I don’t think I “need” any smartwatch, but it does add some values into my life. Plus it’s nice to treat myself every now and then.

Yes, I think it does look big. Not just on your wrist, but on pretty much everyone… But that also does not matter; these watches are not fashion accessories, they’re tools.

If you’re after a fashion accessory, a smartwatch is not for you.

But if it’s the functionality you’re after, and the watch does what you want it to do, and it think it’s worth the price, don’t worry about how it looks. Yes, some people will think it looks big, some will think it looks ugly, but that doesn’t affect its utility to you.

And by far the majority of people will never even notice how it looks on you, and most of those who do notice won’t care. Those who do care aren’t the sort of people worth paying attention to.

At this point all this has been said by others, but it’s worth reiterating.

Edit: Just remembered I got a warning from the mods last time I corrected someone's grammar, so I'm pretending I didn't do anything of the sort here :). In case anyone could care.
That’s crazy. There’s nothing wrong with politely correcting someone. It makes the world a better place, and allows people to learn new things and improve themselves. I certainly appreciate it, anyway.

It’s different if you’re rude about the correction, or are “correcting” someone’s opinion, but a polite grammar correction is a good thing for everyone.

You get my upvote :)

I think that looks way too big….

BUT I am also from an era where sleek watches were all the rage, and currently big watches are in fashion now, so I don’t think it will stand out to anyone else.

So whatever you feel comfortable with.

It’s a big ass watch for sure😊. Not on your wrist…but just in general! I’d say you’re on the cusp of it being too big but it’s workable IMHO. Maybe I’m a traditionalist….I go on whether the lugs (end to end) extend farther than the width of your wrist. It looks like you’re right on the cusp. I’ll add the pic of the watch on my wrist, which is just over 8 inches. It’s large on my wrist…but I think it’s just about a perfect fit.
