I'm going to assume that your post is 100% genuine, and you are really asking for people's advice. With that said...

The healthiest thing for you to do is to "...get over it and be grateful of my mbp as its not actually noticeable and lucky its not anything else."

Yup Its genuine and thanks for your time. I will seriously think about this, just wanted to see if anone else has any say.

Thanks.

darkeartg Are you refering to the Dents or Gap?

Repairs are not Flawless

Well IMOO I think you should call it a “war wound” and move on, the minor imperfections are what make it unique and yours. I have had the keyboards on two MB's replaced due to cracking where the magnetic latches attach and both of the repairs were not flawless, one had a crack and the other had a large gap on the right side, because the part was manufactured years later it was slightly off, per the Genius Bar. Also I had a Sony TV that had a minor imperfection on the lower right bezel not affecting the picture quality, so I made a big deal about it making it a point to look at it every time I walked by, I returned it and noticed it had some light bleeding in the upper right and left corners, although my girlfriend swears she doesn’t see anything, Given that I wish I would have kept the first one. So I personally would only have it fixed if it hindered the over all performance of the MBP.

i dont think all macbooks come out perfect theres going to be something wrong with all of them if you notice it or not.

Very true. I am speaking from experience - having exchanged computers a few times myself.

Excellent advice.

-Should i fix it now?
-Should i take the risk of opening the laptop by Apple tech and risking a perfect working laptop that hasn't been open at all.
-Should i get over it and be grateful of my mbp as its not actually noticeable and lucky its not anything else.
-Blame myself on not noticing the small dents within 14 days.
-USE IT and buy a new one next year.
-Sell it ( reluctant to do so )
-Buy a 2011 new one and give this to my gf lol.

There's another option: you could give it to me, to replace this old Dell Latitude D530. I'll even trade you, if you want. It's already pretty beat up, so you don't have to worry about damaging it!

Use it and don't buy another one next year. Seriously, if you want to keep something nice just to look at get a painting or something.

There is no point in keeping it unused and only doing software updates. You might as well just burn some money.

don't sweat the small stuff.

the part in question with the "dints" is made of plastic, and is soft. it will mar with even the most cautious everyday use. It is also meant to be sacrificial to protect the important parts underneath.

The damage, if I'd even call it that, is just superficial and cosmetic at worst. Could even be molding variances, since it's formed and trimmed during it's creation. In fact it's the same plastic that you are currently smacking and tapping on to type - are you concerned about the horrendous torture and abuse you are subjecting to your keys on the keyboard? No. It's tough stuff, and the dints are not going to affect the laptop's performance in any way.

I couldn't even seen them until the red circle fairy came and hi-lighted it in a later image.

my first 2011 2.0 MBP had a slight chip on the bottom of the magsafe port, where the bottom plate meets the side of the chassis (or whatever you call them on laptops)

I ended up returning it because it made strange critical beep noises whenever I did two finger scrolling in bootcamp.

sometimes you get them with a bit of schmutz on them, so just lick your finger and give it a good wipe and voila (does anyone know how to do accents with a mac keyboard??).

Guys thanks for everything , i think im just gonna suck it up.

And start using it , lol ill probably find something new in the future. :(

Now is there any site or app that i can test out the laptop

i.e. dead pixel and every hardware works perfect and such.

The supposed gap, are you talking about the black hinge being more on one side than the other? You do know that it slides back and forth, and therefore you can adjust it so that it is in the center, right?

I actually have the same gap... How do you slide it back and forth?

Take a black Sharpe.. Dab it on the dents and it will all disappear in your mind. A trick I use on my black motorcycle front fender.

you move them with force, 2 fingers and slide them. hell u can even slide them to make them even. just need bit of force.

What sharpe did you use? did it result in the exact same color?
