Just got one last night....

when I first got mine i checked it and everything was fine.

But yesterday I was reading a book in the kindle app and i noticed a dead pixel in the lower left corner of my screen.... I think it developed recently. I don't know what to do now....

Its not very noticeable. But it does bother me a little. :(

When I got the iPad on launch day, the screen was perfect. Now however, i have three dead pixels. I figure there's no point in getting it swapped out at this point until Apple figures out what's going on with the screens.

I had one stuck pixel on my iPad 3G and Apple replaced it with a brand new one, no questions asked. New one is perfect...so far.

That's definitely a 'bright pixel' burned pixel or whatever you want to call it ; I had exactly the same thing on my iPod touch and the genius(es) said it was the 'bright/burned etc. pixel' and they replaced the iPod without a problem, I suppose you could go back and switch it around ?

Actually, it's the reflective coating behind the screen that is pushing onto the LCD. It was a problem with Macbooks and Macbook Pros.

It happens when the product is jostled/hit from behind.

My iPad had a dead pixel right smack dab in the center of the screen! I couldn't believe it...first screen issue I've had with a product. I called my local Apple store and explained, they made a Genius appt. for me right away. I came in and they swapped it out, no questions asked. So far, the replacement seems to be fine.

although i havent seen a dead pixel on these in person id imagine it isnt that bad considering the pixel density in such a small area. they would be really really small.

It all depends on the person and how they feel about it. I can't even stand dead/stuck pixels on 1920x1200 displays. I tend to sit closer to my iPad than bigger displays, so a stuck/dead pixel REALLY would stand out.

I don't think so, but I've never really looked. I mean...what if it did? Would I return it for that? Of course not. That would be silly.

Yes, mine developed a patch of them, only visible on white backgrounds. I took it to the Apple store in Portland, Maine and they swapped it out for a new one.

Yes to the dead pixel

My 16GB iPad WiFi+3G has one tiny dead pixel on the middle left corner along the border. I only noticed it upon close inspection with different colors on my screen. I considered returning it, but yea, I can't be 100% sure that the replacement would be flawless. So I chose to not cry about it, it is not that bothersome, not worth the hassle. Still a little sad that my sparkling new toy is not all that, but oh well, at least it's only one single itsy-bitsy pixel

Actually, my 32gb wifi iPad is probably the first apple product I've owned without a single dead or stuck pixel. If it had one or two it wouldn't bother me anyway.. They look not much different than a piece of dust sitting on your screen, not an issue for me at all.

I have never had a stuck/dead pixel on any of the Apple products I have purchased over the years. Two MacBooks, two MacBook Pros, three iPhones, and now two iPads. All perfect.

None here. It would have gone back immediately if there were any dead or stuck pixels. They're not exactly small on the iPad!

You are unlike me.

There is no way I would accept a sub-standard, broken, inferior product.
I would have sent it back in an instant.

My first iPad had one stuck pixel towards the top of the screen. I exchanged it at Best Buy with no problems, and the replacement is flawless.

My first iPad had one dead pixel... I got it replaced at the apple store. Replacement is perfect!

I've gotten two ipad's 64gb 3g's replaced over dead/stuck pixel. I received my new one yesterday to find another, which I will not have to replace tomorrow. I just hope my store continues to have them in stock. I gotta admit this is becoming a bit frustrating, and I really don't feel like going through ipad after ipad in store. Hopefully, the next one won't have any issues. I think if this continues, I would simply try to speak to a manager and try to receive my money back without restocking fee...not sure how much longer I can make the 40 min drive to the Apple store. Anyway, sorry for the rant, just wanted to get my frustrations out. I hope you guys have better luck

a whole row of dead pixels on iPad

I have a whole row of dead/stuck pixels on my 3-day old iPad 64Gb. :(

Just noticed it an hour or so ago. Did a search to see if anyone had had similar problems and ended up here.

Bummer, first time I've had to send anything back and it has to be my lovely little iPad.
