Don't buy an apple watch or you will regret it in 3 years, every watch sold right now (series 11, se 3 ans ultra 3) have the S10 chip which has the same cpu/gpu than the s9 from almost 3 years ago... if you don't want the series 8 case to happen to you then please wait for the series 12 !
The Apple Watch will continue to work just like the day it was purchased for 6-10 years without problem. There are forum users still using Series 2 watches with iOS 26.

How will they "regret" it? New hardware comes out all the time and those who bought previous versions won't have what new versions have. Watch OS is very hardware focused.

If you're trying to say - buy the latest chip design for longest OS support, then ok, but it's not like the watch will stop working - it'll work just fine for a very long time.

I'd also add, you can sometimes get amazing deals from Best Buy $100 off - and get a current generation Apple Watch for a really good deal.

I think you mean Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen). Apple Watch Series 2 software support ended with watchOS 6.

I mean Series 2. You can still pair it to an iPhone with iOS 26 and use it for normal Apple Watch activities, etc.

Just because support ended doesn't mean it won't still work with the latest iOS. https://support.apple.com/en-us/118490 "or later" - they still work with the latest iOSs amazingly enough lol 🙂

How about you focus on your own life and stop telling other people what not to buy.
Helping people with their Apple products is part of my life. I like to share my experiences and advices... by doing that, I also learn more about apple products and tech and I like that !

I've had my AWU3 nine months already and it's helped me lose almost 40% of my body weight since then. My priorities are elsewhere
Well done, mate.

I've lost more than a stone, but that's with MyFitnessPal, and counting calories (I have a complication on my watch face, which shows me how many calories I have left for the day.)

I live a sedentary lifestyle, so don't use my watch for any fitness tracking!

Look after you 👍.

Thanks for the information.
I was considering to get an Apple watch but was undecided after what happened to the older models with the watchOS 27.
Now will wait for not just a new watch but with a new chip as well.
It's their product they can do whatever they want. Hope they don't do same with iPhone or Mac.
Not getting feature is understandable but not getting entire OS upgrade is not good.

By all means, give your experience, that’s what this forum is for. But please don’t tell people what to buy or not to buy. That is not what this forum is for.
