Looks pretty good to me

I only saw the display yesterday and I was very impressed by it. The resolution is extraordinary. It's not merely a 'nice to have' -- it makes all the difference when reading text or viewing web pages. Though it's not as good as the iPhone 4, make no mistake -- for the iPod Touch this is a huge leap forward and for anyone upgrading from a previous model, the screen alone makes it worth it.

Hmm, perhaps this thread should be retitled to remove the 'Don't' at the beginning of it :). Most of those who own the touch have positive reviews of the new high res screen. It really is a nice upgrade from the 2G.

The display is plainly not as good as the iPhone 4, but the resolution is just as impressive and a nice upgrade over the the 3G.

This.

downsides are viewing angle contrast degradation at angles outside of normal single person usage, and the type of glass used with attracts much more fingerprint and grease than the oleo-phobic glass on the iPhone 4. other than that, the resolution is equally brilliant, eases eye strain, and is a welcomed upgrade over the old model.
