I'd take the one that cost more as my intentions would be to sell it. I have no desire for either otherwise.

I'd take maxed out Mac Pro over both given the option. At least I can make use of that.

Please, don't annoy me with with these trivial questions....Yawn

Actually, i'll take the Apple as I can keep track of my polo score. Cheerio!

Removing the option of selling, I would take the Apple Edition watch which I would happily wear.
I love my 38mm SS modern buckle and right now have no interest in a watch that can only tell the time and date.

That particular Rolex is really ugly.
But it actually tells time AND the date. ohhh...wow.

Is this like 1900?

I'd have to see if I can find a Rolex I like. Most of the Rolex watches I've seen are way too complicated for my taste. If there is an extremely simple Rolex, with just the time and no date, I might take that. If not, I'll take the Apple watch Edition.

My favorite Rolex is the 39mm Explorer. Simple but still has the iconic utility look of a Rolex. For even more simple, a Date Just with oyster band, but those are a little too bland for me

True. I wonder what the leading douchebag detector watch was before the AW Edition?

Honestly, the douchebag label has more to do with the person than the watch. For example, a crotch-holding, low-class individual who likely only cares about being seen with a $17,000 Edition and even bothered to match his outfit with it definitely looks like a douchebag whereas a down-to-earth, normally dressed woman with the same watch won't come across as one.

That is not a really good example of a nice Rolex watch but if I had to choose its this Rolex above a Apple Watch in a heartbeat.

This Rolex with white gold, normal gold and diamonds will be Quadruple in value over the next ten years.

I'd take the apple watch over a Rolex. There is great history in the Rolex brand, but I'm just not a fan of their products.

Nobody wears Rolex Datejusts anymore. Those are for retired dentists and real estate agents. It's all about submariners and daytonas.

I'll take a IWC Big Pilot or a Panerai Luminor

My daily worn Rolex is still loved by me! Still looks like new after the dealer does his yearly polishing. Many of my friends still wear Rolex. A single link for the band cost more than the Apple SS watch:eek:

Mine has gained in value from the day I purchased it new.

I agree, people still wear Rolex's. Here's mine but she hasn't seen the light of day since the Apple Watch came :(.
Ah, I'm hating you more! Perfect nails, travertine tiles and that Rolex! I have the plebeian Citizens version of that watch...for people who have ceramic tiles and Sally Hansen press on nails! Lol! Good to see you again, by the way.

I do love my Citizens watch as well as a few others in my collection, but it also hasn't seen the light of day since I got the Apple Watch.

Back to the original topic, that Rolex pictured in the original post is really Liberace/1980's levels of gaudy. As a woman I'd wear it because it goes with some of my 1980's era jewelry, but it does look dated to me.

That's not bad looking either. Maybe I'm just not digging the two toned look of the one in the OP. Though two toned watches were my favorites in the 1980's and I have two of them with blue faces. Not Rolex though. By the time I could afford a Rolex, I became a parent and the money goes to trips and classes and adventures instead.

the rolex example is a piss poor model to use, i have a rolex date just, its simple white gold and a sunburst dial and black face with a stainless steel band. its timeless and i always get compliments on it. if you choose a decent rolex its something that will never "age" the apple watch will because a new one will come out every year or so. so i choose the rolex as i wouldnt buy one every year and i will still look current.

i wear my space gray apple watch alot more than my rolex now but once the novelty wears off or i am dressed for a certain occasion my rolex will be on my wrist.

Nice to see you too! How is the yard work coming?

We've had some really heavy rains and flooding so I've taken a break and have been spending time hanging out with my ten year old. I can see the weeds taking over though. It won't be pleasant when I get back to it. I hope all is well with you!

Rolex is just not my bag man but yes I'll take the Rolex.

Then sell the Rolex, buy a Tricked Out Mac Pro and a Stainless Steel Apple Watch. Pocket the rest.
