I noticed something interesting. I went back and looked at the information given by CoconutBattery again. What I noticed was the Full Charge Capacity started to rise as the phone was being charged. And as the battery charge closed the gap between the percentage reported by CoconutBattery and iOS got smaller. So right now my Full Charge Capacity went from 4472 to 4485, I stopped charging the battery at 86%. CoconutBattery is reporting 85.2%.

I am curious if this is part of the calibration issues we might be seeing/

I notice that the FCC tends to fluctuate. When charging, highest I got was 4496 and as low as 4460 when not charge and fluctuate depend on use but I don't really bother with that.

That’s all they perform a dang diagnostic test 😂 that’s how they determine if your device is faulty or not. But all this seems like a software issue.
They can go a bit overboard with this diagnostic nonsense, performed one last week for my piss yellow screen 🙄 surprise, surprise, everything came back normal. 😂

The diagnostic test won’t determine if you have a pissy yellow screen or not. Glad you were able to tell Apple about this thread. I really hope they are reading our comments.

Wasn’t having any of it when they wanted me to run the test again, they were seeing this thread if they liked it or not. 😁

Did you see the date the other person found the issue, 9/27/2021. Just 3 days after they received the phone and they state it happened after they charged the phone, not doing a hard restart. Curiouser and curiouser.
All fine here, unless I reboot my phone.

I thought the battery percentage gets stuck on your phone and only goes up for charging but won't move downward.
Sorry misread what you wrote, correct, if I’ve rebooted my phone, then charged it again, battery percentage won’t drop, can guarantee you they’ve rebooted their phone.

Charging my phone just fine every morning to a 100%

Battery percentage is still dropping.

It will be fine as long as I don’t reboot my phone.

So the temp fix is to charge to 100%?

There is no fix, restore your device, don’t go near the power button until apple get their act together. 😂

Some people have said charging to 100% isn’t fixing the issue anymore.

Best thing to do now is don’t restart your phone until a confirmed software update fixes the issue. 🤦‍♂️

I was referring to your situation with your phone. It sounds like, if you charge your phone to 100%, the battery percentage will move downward off the charger. And if you restart your phone then the issue has reset back to the battery percentage not moving downward, until you charge it again to 100% and then battery percentage will move downward again. Am I missing anything here?
