Never used OBC, don’t believe it’s actually good for our battery, reckon it’s the complete opposite, never works properly.

If only apple would stop being stubborn and let us schedule it like DND, then I’d definitely use it. 😁
That’s wild your battery was at 99% health. I had my 12 PM from Jan 2021 through Sept 21 when I got the 13 PM. Battery health was 93% and I didn’t use the phone for intense tasks really. I left OBC on. This go around I’ll leave OBC off and see what happens. I traded in my 12 to Apple so don’t really care about battery if I do the same next time for the 14.

I started off using 15.1 on my 13, so have nothing to compare it too. Unless you mean a calibration setting?
It appears that there might be a calibration bug in iOS 15 and that is why some posters are having this stuck battery percentage issue. That is my theory anyway.

I never used OBC, also never left my phone on the charger for more than 30m once it's fully charged.

I charge my phone to 100% everyday.

Try this with your 13 PM.

saw this thread. didn't expect it may happen to me - received last night..from the other side of the world (singapore).............. out of trying to figure if there's any scratches/already applied screen protector. initially did a fresh start but had to erase and port from XS as XS airdrop didn't speak to 13PM. also, generally i do reboot often so i doubt i can 'don't reboot'.
charged to about 93%, unplugged & it stayed there for hours lololol (only happen after the charge, not reboot).... connected to coconut on mbp then rebooted = it reflected same 88%. updated to iOS 15.0.1 same ohwells. may do a full charge next and hope they fix this. THIS NEEDS MORE ATTENTION

Lol you are the only guy in Singapore having this problem other than me.

not guy but i think not the only ones/people probably don't reboot and it may really be calibration issues 🤷🏻‍♀️
oh right it didn't happen until after i charged to 93% though?
(ps: surprised dhl rushing deliveries/even on sundays)

--- additional update ---
it did drop 1% aft awhile 86 to 85. so i curiously connected to coconutbattery it shows 80%.
(some reboots were done hence 86 from the 88)

didn't charge fully as 'researching on battery optimisation' then lately on XS it really did show 'improvements' for batt health stabilising at 90% for 40-88~% range (express replacement last year hence that 90% lol)

--- further updates ---
the % is dropping very gradually (not really doing much with the phone but it seem more normal than earlier on where it was stuck at 93%)

unsure if i'll charge to full tomorrow/day after since it may be some os/calibration issues.

Charging to 100% didn't help either, it only updates on reboots. Now I'll try to deplete it as fast as I can. What a ducking mistake I made hard rebooting

WHAT!!! so charging to 100% does nothing? 😳

It finally dropped 1%, 88 to 87, I rebooted and it dropped to 82. So it’s still ducked up. Will I be able to deplete it all in the next few hours to try recharging it again? Who knows, I’ll try. If I ever fix it I won’t come to this forum ever again. If not I’ll definitely return it in the next few days

I'm calling apple support today, getting one of their senior advisors to look at this thread. 🤦‍♂️ Maybe ask for some freebies as well. 😂

I made an account just to say that I’ve had the same problem and have reported the bug through Apple Support.

In the meantime, I’ve been able to temporarily get rid of the symptoms of the problem by temporarily turning off Optimized Battery Charging (“until tomorrow”) and charging to 100%.

Apple left a number for me to speak to their Senior Advisors on the issue.

Temporarily meaning that if you switch it on again it stops working again?

Thanks though, what a terrible, terrible mistake this was

browsing to & fro earlier to figure reasonings/this also made lots of sense (cos similar observations for coconutbattery details)

This was brought up in another thread, the battery in the iPhone 13 actually has more capacity then what is advertised. I looked at my battery using the CoconutBattery app on my Mac and it showed the max capacity to be 4472 mAh and its design (advertised) capacity to be 4352 mAh. This means that the battery in my phone is actually 102% when fully charged. This is part of the reason why when the phone is changed to 100% it takes a bit more time for it to drop to 99%. For me I am sticking to charging to 85% and not going lower than 20%.

haha is there people who make battery to explain o_o? though we roughly have an idea of why right now
lol while researching for imac 2021 m1 versions some on reddit said like how 7 vs 8 gpu is probably similar due to how they are made & so on.

my update is that the battery % has been dropping normally(?!) but i guess rebooting if required/charging later might change some stuff or maybe not.
