Listen if you're worried about getting your phone scratched then be extra cautious. If something happens then go to an Apple Store and simply say that the iPhone's battery life has never been good and that the signal is not as good as your wife/friend's iPhone 5. Say that you believe your iPhone is defective and that you want a replacement.

Apple will take it in, test it then replace the exterior (which is cheap for them) then use it as a refurbished replacement for other customers.

The major issue is scratching the black one . Your battery issues are irrelevant to the colour.

Is that not fraud??

I just swapped my White for the Black. Black one has just arrived via UPS, I am going to sit down later tonight, and play around with both to see which one I want. Then I will have to send the loser back to Apple.

I was going to switch to white but after seeing how dirt gets under the home button with the white iphones at the apple store, I stuck with black. Less headaches and less cleaning. The dirt would drive me nuts.

yea.. i have that going on and i also have it around the top right corner.. my OCD is going extreme. im just going to return and get the black.

You guys are the type whom never takes good care of your phone. Keeps it in your dirty little pocket with all the other waste thats hidden there. Dayyum u guys.

You paid the price to own a device that is advertised as state of the art. You were given a timeframe to be able to exchage/return it. If you are still within that timeframe and are unhappy with your decision then go back and get a black one. Dont listen to some of the negative comments from posters on here. You have a right as a consumer so exercise it. Go back and swap it out.

Not that I'm going to keep the iPhone but I hate the idea of exchanging it and getting burned.

My black is flawless.

I'm not saying the color has anything to do with the battery? But my last one charged really fast and lasted me almost all day. This white iPhone takes a couple hours to fully charge but it dies after 5-6 hours moderate use. Of course it's not the color just that I probably got one with a bad battery. I have 30 days to return I hope by then they have some in stock or maybe trade for a black one again.

I hate the way the screen bkeeds thru the edges of the white one as it did in my 4s so this is why I went for black this time. The blsck I ne gets dusty and shows fingerprints easier though

Exactly I didn't have a problem to beggin with. But all this Forums got me worried!! Oh we'll lol I'll stick to the white iPhone and I would return it and get a black one if it was just that easy to walk into a store and find one!

Just created this blog to let people know its not worth swapping their phone just because they're afraid the paint will come off or get scratched !
Some of this forums are overrated!

#iphone5madness

Lol, you are responsible for your own actions, and if you felt compelled to change your iPhone because of what other people said instead of looking at the physical evidence that was in your hand, then that's your own problem. There is nothing wrong with the white iPhone 5. The model itself is the exact same as the black one. And whatever problems your specific white iPhone has was inherited by your own stupid self. So please, go and exchange the phone back to a black one. I will enjoy my own white iPhone 5.

If you prefer black just put it in a nice slim case like the Incipio Feather and your done.

If your concerned about the exposed top and bottom in that case then use something like the Incase Slider.

I love my white iPhone. And yes, I'm asian.

LOL, Asian and females are suckers for da white!

While I'll admit the white does look nice, the screen border effect on white would be distracting especially with letterboxed apps.

Well your problem was giving into the morons with OCD and an insane sense of entitlement that have flooded and infected these forums. You have become a tasty sheep like the rest of them. You didn't think there was a problem until you read the "problems" other sheeple were having here.

Careful, you've just insulted more than 75% of the forum here.

I did the same thing, always had white (except for the 4, when the white wasn't released for months). The pictures of the black iPhone 5 were just so amazing I was torn and ended up ordering the black for something different.

After seeing the white ones I was in love and ordered a white one and managed to sell the black one.

On the white phone; I found that the apps that haven't extended their screen size to the iPhone 5 size, so ugly and annoying with the letter boxing and I can't type properly on those apps.
On the black phone; I only used it for 5 days and the top chamfered edge already had little white marks, the area around the simtray was scuffed immediately.

I'm glad I swapped, letter boxed apps will eventually be upgraded, and chamfered edges will eventually wear away, but it's less noticeable on the white phones...

Damnit, I'm asian and female. Guess I'm doomed to whitedom.

Is that not fraud??
How is it fraud?
Fraud is knowingly destroying your iphone to collect on an insurance claim. Getting a device replaced (not destroyed) is not fraud.

So based on speculation you traded in a perfectly good phone for a different one?

I better go trade in my car cause I'm bound to get a flat tire eventually....

I wouldn't say "worst mistake ever" but damn if that wasn't a bad move...
