There are many styles and genres of music available each of which appeal to different demographics. Just because someone doesn't like rap or any of other genres doesn't mean that it's not good. Each and everyone us define for ourselves what what is good and bad in the music industry. It's all relative to our individual tastes when it comes to music. So, if you don't like rap then simply don't listen to it which includes Dre's new album. Criticizing it doesn't really resolve anything.

Thank you for this post. I was about to post the same thing. This world is becoming so opinionated, and everyone is scared of anything that differs from their way of life. We're all unique.

Dr. Dre is the Apple of music. Not many releases. Very few products. Damn near all them change the climate they were competing in and destroys the competition.

if you can't find at least 10 albums you do like in literally ANY genre of music, you're not trying hard enough. you probably gave up once your confirmation bias settled in, which was probably brought on in early stages of discovering it via crap Radio stations or cable 'Music' networks..

seriously, every genre contains music and styles that barely fit into said genre.

It’s not Detox, but this is some awesome news. More exclusives, more interesting tracks and the like will make the service better and better.

As for people who feel that they can’t possibly like rap because its “ghetto trash”; would you care to elaborate on what you mean like that? Could you define what you mean by those two words, in as great a detail as you find possible. I’m sure you’ll come off as eloquent and rational.

That said, the title written on there is NOTqMO7…

Just read this over and over uneducated fools.

For those of you confused why this is such a big deal (or for those of you who are unfamiliar with rap / hip hop), let me break it down:

1. Dr. Dre hasn't released an album in over 15 years. His 3rd and final album was supposed to be called Detox and over time it became somewhat of a white whale, not only in hiphop but in the entire music industry. Around 2009 there were rumors that Dr. Dre had recorded around 400 songs for Detox but the album never showed up. Long story short, we all kind of assumed that Dr. Dre would never release anything else other than headphones. This is a big part of why this unreleased album that we can't even hear snippets of, is already the top selling album (of all genres) on iTunes.

2. Dr. Dre is one of the best producers in music. Songs that Dre made back in the 90s still sound great today. I can pretty much guarantee that this album will have top notch production on every track.

3. Dr. Dre introduced some of the biggest rappers of this generation including: Eminem, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar.

4. The hiphop genre has been overloaded with clowns like Fetty Wap, Young Thug (the names alone should tell you something) and a bunch of other talentless idiots that bring down the entire genre. It's about time that a real genuine hip hop album comes along to remind us what hip hop should sound like.

For those of you wondering why there are so many features, this is because Dr. Dre is more of a producer than a rapper.

I was also about to say something VERY similar. One persons "trash" is another persons "treasure". Liking certain music is based on PERSONAL PREFERENCES. There is no good and bad, right or wrong when it comes to music, and art in general. So I guess it is some peoples "opinion" that rap is trash, however it IS NOT A FACT! It's just what YOU THINK. There isn't a single genre of music out there that doesn't having artists, albums, and songs I love. If the same does not hold true for you, then please do not consider yourself a music lover, because your not. Rap IS by fact MUSIC. Apple MUSIC, is a MUSIC service. Therefore it makes complete sense for them to have Dr. Dre on board and releasing an exclusive album. You guys realize he is an EMPLOYEES of Apple so of COURSE he is going to release it through his employer! Also, exclusives were happening way before streaming services. Places like Target, Wal-Mart, and even record stores had exclusive releases and exclusive content. Having it on a streaming service actually makes that content much easier to distribute to many many more people than it ever did in physical form. What is going to happen is Apple is going to be able to afford and get into talks and negotiations with WAY MORE artists for exclusives than any other service due to their money, clout, and connections in the Industry(think: all the music heads they bought with Beats).

Also on a bit of a separate note, Benjamin Frost - why do you have an account here? I've seen your likes and comments on just about every forum here and none of them are positive about ANY Apple hardware, software, or services..... NONE. Do you even own any Apple products or are you paid by a competitor to do this? If you have no interest in Apple stuff at all, and think it all sucks, then why are you even wasting your time here?

No good and bad, Your not :), he is an employees ... Maybe that's why I don't like that kind of treasures.
By the way I did not said that rap is trash, I don't think about rap as music because most of it lacks a melody.

All a melody is is “a sequence of single notes that is musically satisfying; a tune."

Listen carefully to this. Hear that succession of notes in a set rhythm? That’s a melody. It might not be as symphonic as a Vivaldi overture, or as complex as something by John Cage, but it’s a melody nevertheless.

No other genre produces this level of outrage in people, and I can’t think of a single reason why it would…

I really did try and like Apple Music. I really really did.

I hoped it would work better with my BMW iDrive integration. I didn't. It made it crash in fact.

I hoped it would give me access to the wealth of albums available from iTunes Store including Ministry of Sound. It doesn't. Most albums (especially compilations), are not available on Apple Music.

The usability is horrific. The search is terrible. The playlist functions are.....non-functional.

And now they tout this garbage as exclusive material.

You know what Apple? You can keep your Music and shove it up where the sun don't shine.

Hello Spotify. I've missed you so so much. I'll even forgive you for your new dodgy green.

Straight out of Compton to Cupertino. How sad is that?
Sell out?

I mean NWA was THE anti Machine band in their day. Now they are part of the Machine.

Funny how money changes people.

Country music, and for the same reasons. ...continually shaped and guided by A&R men over decades til its original virtue is gone, musically devoid "music" with heaps of bad poetry on top, celebrating and romanticizing the worst aspects of humanity, all marketed at poor people and kids as a way of life, who buy into it, emulate it, and live it. It is a cultural poison.

Wow, the hate is real in this thread. I mean the exact same can be said about movies and video games producers too in fact the more popular titles that most watch and play are much much worst. I don't see this kind of reaction in those threads that announce those products. Looks and sounds like a form of racism to me.
Some of you speak as though Apple is a Saint and Dre is the Devil. Because there's no real basis for such talk it comes across very racist, especially since many are simply expressing your opinions out of emotion.
