I just registered to post how much this article made me laugh

This is the silliest thing I have read in months. I actually JUST registered to post how much I laughed when I read this article's title.

  • Any person that has ever listened to Dr. Dre's Beats headphones knows that they were not designed by a perfectionist.
  • Anybody that has ever owned Beat's headphones knows that they fall apart after a month. They also know that Beat's were not designed by a perfectionist.

Who really buys into this bologna?

And for the record, not a single pair of headphones with higher quality audio than Beats is acceptable to wear in public.

Most of the critics here have no vision, no intelligence, no thoughtfulness. Just a bunchy whiney comments

Definitely the most eyebrow-raising headline I've seen on this sight. Good job MacRumors!

Yeah because Apple earphones are so good and reliable.

Well that's subjective. Looks are subjective.... To a much greater degree, frequency and phase response are NOT. Neither is quality.

If you just want to 'look' good, why are you buying headphones? Get a grill dawg. That's what the real playaz do.

No. Just no.

I really can't think of a better response.

I mean, to compare one of the great technology minds of the era with Dr. Dre? I am not a huge Steve Jobs fan, but I respect his business and technology practice, and this comparison is unacceptable.

What qualifies these Wall Street Analyst to make these observations? They don't understand Apple and they definitely don't understand technology and they definitely don't understand Steve Jobs or the music industry or even Hip Hop for that matter! It is hilarious watching these Wall Street Analyst trying to make sense of it and trying to stay relevant! Apple makes a fool of them and I love it! Price target of $1700 for Apple stock because Dr. Dre is the new Steve Jobs! LOL!

Nobody is comparing Beat's to apple headphones? Why would you compare a horrible sounding pair of $400 headphones to a horrible sounding pair of apple $30 ear buds?

Comparing Dr. Dre to Steve Jobs? Seriously?

So let's see...in the span of the last two weeks we've had Jimmy Iovine, Craig Federighi and now Dr Dre being compared to Steve Jobs. Good god can people stop comparing people to Steve already!

The analysts are a joke. I'm sure you know, if you spend enough time watching one industry, they make zero sense.

No, because Dre is a rapper and Jobs was a brilliant software and hardware developer.

Actually, I don't know much about Dre, I'm sure he's done a lot of awesome stuff in his lifetime--I just don't see this as a racism issue which you seem to be trying to make it.

Dr. Dre is a PRODUCER first and a businessman second. Rapping is essentially a side project for him, and has been for decades.

I love my EarPods. Even after my 5S was replaced by the S5, but EarPods stay with me.

I'm refering to the old Apple earphones.

These peices of crap.

I don't know Dr. Dre personally, but it can't be beyond the realm of possibility that he is a perfectionist and cares about his products/business. Steve Jobs? Certainly not but come on guys...This is a good move for Apple.

Maybe he is the Steve Jobs of hip hop? Or maybe Steve Jobs was the Dr. Dre of technology.

Might actually be a good thing. Apple seems to still be playing the same game that Steve started. He died and they didn't jump to release stuff that was the new it thing to lead the pack, they didn't return to Macworld etc. That Dre has the same tendencies as Steve means that he will slide right into the culture with way less of a fight.

Yes. The real "next Steve Jobs" has arrived. I love it.

This is kind of like when someone's child does something, and they think it is so cute, but when someone else's child does the same exact thing, it isn't that cute.

Lol, get over it!

Absolutely not. The product is 100% marketing; 0% quality. It has no goods behind it.

I've heard more people say that about Apple than I have about Beats headphones. Beats have their place, they're stylish, and excel at making certain types of music sound great. And yes, they're marketed almost as well as Apple's products.
