I wasn't really comparing them.... You were saying Beats headphones were not designed by a perfectionist because they have poor quality audio and they fall apart easily. And I just thought it was funny because under Steve Jobs (who is a perfectionist) Apple created some of the worst earphones known to man. Just a bit of irony.

You guys are killing me! I almost want Apple to buy Bose just to piss you guys off even more! LOL!

A Wall Street analyst told me that there is a credible rumor that Bose is the next large Apple acquisition! :D 12 month price target for Apple is now $3000 a share pre split!

Go to a headphone meet. If you're interested in high quality music, i would be happy to share information with you to help you on your search for that.

If you're interested in jewelry, enjoy your Beats.

wtf are those ugly products and terrible website?

Step your Design and Marketing game up lmfao
Its Easy right?!!

That makes sense.

I think crappy headphones played an oddly important role in the success of the portable music player though. It's kind of hid the fact that we traded high bit rate CD players with great DAC's for compressed cheap mp3.

It is ironic that Jobs had a role in that.

He's was smart enough to make a company worth 3b so who's to say he's not as smart as Jobs...

Bose is about as overpriced and overrated as Beats are. The difference is, Beats acknowledges that they put out bass heavy headphones and people acknowledge that they pay a premium because they are "cool." Bose users, on the other hand, try to claim that they are enlightened audiophiles.

^ This is spot on.

And I know about high quality sound. I've done audio engineering work. But guess what, none of the equipment I used would be acceptable being worn in public

Beats is not the greatest audio quality product, but I can wear it in public

Maybe because he perfected a sound for mass market bass heavy consumer taste. He understands what his targeted markets wants and gives it to them. I see nothing wrong with that. Matter of fact, it's smart business. The group at Headfi doesn't use Beats so why should Dre care what they think. I use Senn's but that doesn't mean I hate Beats. I don't understand all the anger.

This, and even though Beats design is very nice, I care about sound quality first, so I do not use them, however I couldn't care less if other people like them, as long as I am not forced to use them, which I am not.

Live and let live...

Trust me. There are alot of closet racists that come out every time Dre gets a post. As if a black guy can't possibly be as smart or cunning as a white guy. All I see is a guy who helped sell his company for $3B, while these forum posters make less than the US median income.

smells like social engineering of some kind

God help us, they haven't...have they?

Actually compared Steve Jobs to Dr Dre?

Perfectionist? Is that why my Wireless Beats headband snapped when I was taking them off when they were only a couple months old? Is that why my Beats Executives had the left speaker stop working from light use within a couple of months of purchase? Is that why the headband on my wired beats came loose within a year of purchase?

Overpriced crap.

Hell, I'm pretty much exactly like Steve too!

1. I've always liked simple things.
2. I don't like compromises.
3. I can be a bit of an a hole
4. I was (still am) adopted.
5. My birth mothers last name is Simpson.

Holy crap, move over Tim Cook, I'm basically Steve.

Mac Rumors, want to write an article about me? PM me! ;)

I think that this should read, "Andre Young, aka Dr. Dre" as I'm sure his mother did not name him Dr. Dre.

I also find it ridiculous that people call him Dr. as he has not earned the title of Dr. of anything.

Furthermore, Andre is no Steve Jobs... comparing the two implies they are in the same ballpark. In the words of Mr. Jackson, "they are not in the same ballpark, they are not even playing the same sport..."

You mean besides paying attention to every little detail, release very few products and most of them being outright hits and generating billions of dollars?

But he sold that company for $3 billion... so he must be the best right? I think you're just a racist!

Can you point to an instance where this happened?

All the interview with Jobs that I've seen, he praises his team.

Look around you. Observe what most people say !
That is him marketing himself !
But got to hand it yo u.. He had the god given charisma to pull it off!

Guys, Apple is going to be re-designing and re-engineering the Beats headphones! Get over it!

Go play World of Warcraft or something! LOL!

It's Friday night, there are better things to be doing than to still be arguing about this same topic!

Why would you compare Beat's to Senns? Of course a Beat's customer doesn't want a neutral sound, and especially does not want an open back can.

I think offering a Beat's fan a pair of Denon D2000s would be more successful. They hit harder and have more control and texture in the lower frequencies than most of the sealed phones I've listened too. They also cost less than Beats.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret. The vast, vast majority of the buying public don't care. They like Beats. Why they like them is immaterial. They just do. The argument you're posing is better served on a forum like Headfi, not MR.

Bolded from your quote: Doesn't matter in the real world. You're talking about control and texture in the lower frequencies. That is forum talk for forum people. Mass market consumers don't care.

The sad thing about most of the comments is that many say that Beats is the only thing you can use in public...

If you care that much about what society things then you're pathetic.

Use whatever you want...
