"Questionable things"!!!
you keep posting that.. what's your point? i think you're assuming others are going to get your point after seeing the video but i'm not.. can you explain, in your own words, what's so bad about that video?

Yeah, no problem with this album. I guess Tim Cook is OK with misogyny and violent homophobia as long as it's "in da family". Frikken' hypocrites.
Coveted and practiced, hypocrisy is a way of life at Apple. While also holding true as applied to others, no one has it as perfected as the company headquartered in Cupertino does.

I'm mean, the Chronic is okay (well it's a 20 year-old album). But Pharrell? (since his "buffon hat" era) Swift? BeatsOne?

Apple has made what Jobs or any smart company would've NEVER EVER DONE: irreversibly compromise the brand image by associating themselves with something that is not neutral and therefor potentially of really bad taste.

Here is the complete case, Apple is doing a lot of damage to its own image, not just in terms of pricing, lack of innovation or low specs/bugs, but the degenerate image their fans have (which is legit), their ugly recent designs and now this association in music, a domain in which it's VERY hard and dangerous take part or curate.

You are making it seem that this is all fact when in reality it is just an opinion and in market terms a minority one too.

It actually, at the time, was considered transformative as far as its defining the west coast rap sound and influential within hip-hop in general.

No, that would have been years earlier, with Eazy E and NWA...the band Dre came from (as I am sure you know).

heh.. that lasted about 5 years then pretty much one song brought it back home ;)

If you don't know, then I'm afraid I won't be able to explain it to you. This is something your parents should have taught you.

I have a recommendation: Show the video to your mother, tell her you don't understand what's wrong with it, then after she recovers from the shame, maybe she can properly explain it to you.

say what? you can't explain it to me? why? apparently, it's teachable since my parents should of done it so why can't you explain it then?

like, you should at least of posted a disclaimer along with the video "this is meant for people who feel exactly the same way i do" ...instead, you're posting it as a means to sway opinion ("perhaps you didn't see this").

but you can't even elaborate on what we're supposed to be seeing there?

again, what's your point? (real question)

An album from what, 1991? Oh yeah, real exclusive.....

These giant corporations are slowly stealing our society, one piece at a time. What will they go after next? Introducing Apple Health Care - subscribe now for exclusive cancer treatments you can't get anywhere else.

Vomit.

Are you asking me to be your mommy? Sorry, that's not my job. Apparently you were never taught to identify and recognize bad behavior, and never taught proper use of grammar and punctuation, as evidenced by your replies, and it's not my job to teach you.

If you read carefully, my comments associated with the videos, you might get the point(s). If you're still having trouble, you'll just have to ask your mommy for help.

"we're"

There is no "we". It's apparent you're the only one struggling.

Lol, I'm completely with you!!! I watched that video too... It's a dude celebrating with his friends the hugest success of his storied career... when he brags that he became the 1st rapper billionaire (quite an accomplishment!!) I think he drops a single F bomb. Lol, who cares?? I don't understand either what this video was supposed to prove.

Nice rationalisation. Except reality (according to quantum philosophy) IS an opinion. And you can twist reality up to a certain point where your own decisions/products and the reality of the outside world break.

This is such a case. Taylor Swift, recent Pharrell, Zane Lowe etc...are very bad taste music for the majority of people. Sure not the millions of teens and couch potatos who listen to whatever crap plays on the radio. Except these people are not intelligent, not influential and no trendsetters, while the others one will associate their image with Apple.

Which is the reason Jobs Apple almost never sponsored or try to associate or curare music as a core strategy or product launch.

So you're saying that Dr. Dre is a thug based on his music and actions from over 2 decades ago? Interesting.

Heaven forbid we look into the questionable things you did/said when you were younger.

Dr. Dre is nowhere near a "thug" at this point in his career. He's actually the furthest damn thing from one. The guy is as mainstream and commercial as it gets. Hence why Apple felt it was safe to bring him into the fold.

Apologies but what a load of crap. Jobs promoted both U2 and John Mayer extensively. Both of these artists fit right in with your little "bad taste" compilation of artists.

iTunes launch (2004?).. jobs chats with dr.dre

(or when you say 'almost never', maybe this is one of the occasions that got a pass?)

I say almost never, because back then Dr. Dre was an excellent choice, the same way The Dream closing for the last keynote is okay.

But when it comes to curation, radio music and social network, Apple Music has already failed, no music listener, Dj, collector or curator will use it and be appealed.

Oh yeah, tell me what happened again when Apple tried to force a U2 album in people's iPhone?

And again it didn't define the platform or product themselves, however Apple Music is based on this very crappy curation.

I say almost never, because

got it..
so basically, s.jobs never associated with music or had a core service based on music (?!) or used music for product launches.. except when he did.
fair enough ; )

apple music is based off beats.. beats was popular with listeners and djs and collectors and curators.. i imagine appleMusic will be much more popular than beats was.
i also think 2 years ago, most people wouldn't even consider paying for a streaming service.. once apple applefies it, that tune will change too.. they'll bring millions of people into paying $100/year.. apple helped make $120/month phone service seem normal.. they'll probably do similar with radio.. maybe not to the same extent but still, similar in the mindset change.

idk, i think your last sentence is just baloney.. srry.

No. You mentioned that Steve would almost never sponsored, curate or associate etc..

Maybe you forgot that Jobs contacted U2 about ten years ago for a special edition iPod in black and red. They launched the product together in the same way Cook did last year with the exclusive album. Steve introduced many curated features to iTunes while he was still alive.

How is a black and red U2 themed iPod not defining the product?

In addition, the curation on Apple Music is a feature. You can enjoy obscure or unpopular music and your own music as much as you like without ever being forced to use any of the curated streams.

Again, you are voicing an opinion as fact and no quantum philosophy interpretation of that will convince any of the people here that it is otherwise.
