not the biggest fan of the fact that streaming services are getting into the exclusives game, or of Dre himself (considering he's done some pretty shady things in the past before becoming an entrepreneur)

Yeah and so has Frank Sinatra. But I'm sure most, if not all people here will conveniently forget that this "classy staged man" was connected with the Mafia.

The first time I had heard of Dr Dre was when Apple bought Beats. In fact, the first time I had heard of Beats was when Apple bought Beats, although I had seen their ugly headphones without knowing (or caring) what brand they were. Yes I am middle aged and sad, no doubt, but Apple seems to be losing any genuine integrity and style they perhaps once had by getting into bed with anyone and anything that can help raise another dollar, regardless of quality or substance.

You won't get an ounce of an argument here. Thanks for saying it.

Does this exclusive actually come with a Chronic where it fixes the iTunes Match glitch that everyone is talking about.

Man. Take a chill pill. And a reality check.
My 2008 posts were kind of like yours. Trying to find reason and taking Apple's side on whatever. Apple is a company and, like others, they are just after our money.
This whole streaming thing is just a huge dildo up our rear ends (or to the people who are too lazy to organize their own music). I am an apple shareholder and I hope people stick it to them on this one.
I suggest you re-read what you wrote and then realize that was senseless. If people "stick it to Apple" and don't buy into Music, you sir will lose money as Apple shares drop for loss of revenue.......Unless of course you thought that a drop in shares means you make money. ;)

When Tim sees opportunity for profit, any integrity and rational thought goes out the window. What a hypocrite.

This year, you and Eminem were attached by gay-rights groups for the lyrics on Eminem's album. What do you think about it now, a few months later?

Dr. Dre: "...Looking at it now, to tell you the truth, I really still don't give a ****..."

You specifically were singled out for telling MTV News that you "don't care about those types of people," referring to gays.

Dr. Dre: "...It's wrong for me to do or say what I want? To express my opinion?..."

"...What the ****? I've always been a lunatic. Everybody's entitled to their opinion, and that's mine..."

Wow, I couldn't make it through the entire 10 pages of comments. Some of the lame attempts at humor and various disparaging remarks regarding Dr. Dre were a big turnoff for me. Regardless of what some may think or feel about the man he received approximately $800M when Apple bought Beats. To those referenced above I ask, how long, if ever, will it take you to make $800M. Methinks, jealousy and envy have reared their ugly heads for many who posted.

Translation: Regardless of what some may think about Dre and his despicable behavior and attitude, he received approximately $800M from Apple, so let's just ignore all his anti-gay, homophobic, misogynistic, classless behavior, because, well, he received $800M and you didn't. And, since we'll never make $800M, then we should never criticize or acknowledge any of his deplorable actions, attitudes, and behaviors no matter how egregious.

Genius logic you got there.

Come on then.
It's exactly what I meant.
Even though I hold the shares, I hope this goes belly up and apple takes another way.
I think this is so stupid that I'd rather lose money than see this go through.

Clear enough? Or I am going to be asked to re-read my post?

Most people have evolved on the issue of gay rights since 2000. Dont try it.

This is macrumors where they will chastize you for calling letting someone know death isnt a response to getting you Apple Watch late but posting up symbols like a swashtika and stars and bars which disparage whole groups of people is perfectly acceptable.

probably the same place as dr. Ruth, dr. J, dr. Seuss, doc Holliday, etcetc
do they bug you too?

Dr Ruth has an Ed.D. in Human Sexuality and Sociology from Columbia and did post-Doctorate work at New York-Presbyterian.

(she was also trained as a sniper for the Israeli military)

Now AC/DC too?! Apple should play For Those About to Rock We Salute You as the first song on Beats 1.

Oh did Tim Cook hire Frank Sinatra, Robert DeNiro or Tony Bennett? ;)

Sinatra, possibly (I hear he got arrested for sleeping with a married woman in 1938... Shocking! He also consorted with those scoundrel Kennedy's...), but Bennet. I don't think I could see him as a thug even when he got his first hits in the very late 40s :).

Nothing but a G thang is one fantastic Rap tune, one of the best. You could almost start smoking weed just to get in the chill groove of that tune :). BTW, I'm a rap fan since 1979-1980 (yeah, a long long time) and I'm not to keen for 90% of present day rap. Though, there are some pockets of good rap/hiphop that remain.

Yeah, no problem with this album. I guess Tim Cook is OK with misogyny and violent homophobia as long as it's "in da family". Frikken' hypocrites.

Actually he seems to be fine with homophobia and violence and misogyny from all kinds of bands, including plenty of misanthropic black metal bands, death metal bands including Dissection and others... and Guns'n'Roses "One in a Million", which at least is controversial (the only controversy I find about Guns'n'Roses is that they are the second most overrated band after Nirvana)... so no, your convenient theory doesn't apply, as much as you'd love to make it work.

Just go ahead and say it, man. Just say "******".

Btw, how many thugs do you know making billion dollar deals? Exactly.

Only one. What's your point?

And I'm sorry. My meaning of thug is much different from your meaning because I grew up in the inner city during the 80's. Back in my day we called it Gangster music, hardcore rap, ghetto music. It was used to represent a style of music; not to single out a race because I only knew of one culture. Dr. Dre, Ice T, Ghetto Boys did Gangster music. The fat boys, LL cool J and Run DMC did mainstream rap. I didn't start calling it thug music until Tupac rolled on the set back in the early 90's. Gangster music was actually on the way out until Dre did The Chronic and 2001.
I actually did not like rappers such as DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince (aka Will Smith) because they weren't hard enough. I never liked Tupac or Biggie because I was getting away from rap at the time due to responsibilities. I was more a NWA fan when I was a kid.
So Thug music, Thug artist to me represents a music style. To me I'm not using it as a derogatory replacement for the N word. For me there is a difference between using the word Thug and using the N word. I never use the N word and I'm black. Other than thug what other politically correct word do you use to represent such music; Gangster artist? By today's standards Dr. Dre and Eazy E. were not hiphop artist. That's a slap in their faces.

Uh you were being too kind about Sinatra and Bennett. Both have/had a connection to the mob. The ignorant comments on this forum today (not speaking about you per say, just making an overall point) seem to think that anyone black (especially in hip hop) are thugs when there were certainly onstage white performers that "appeared" to be classy on stage wearing tuxedos when most of them (especially the Italians) were connected to a syndicate.
