I recently tripped with my iPad in my bag and it dented the corner of my iPad. I got my iPad less than a month ago so is there a warranty that covers that or anything? Let me know.

Some credit card companies cover accidental damage within the first 30-90 days. You may look into what coverage your card has.

I did the same

Hey OP, I did the same thing. Top left corner of my iPad got damaged in my misshap.. Mine was pretty new too when it happened and I was bummed, so I headed down to the Apple store with my saddest face, and they offered to replace it at a cost. 64 3G for $479 (I'm in Canada, eh). Although that's a good price, I paid $30 for a plastic case that fits on the back, wraps around the edge and covers my boo boo.

Apple as a one-time replacement policy in place. Even dropped damage. Just ask as most of the time they will not tell you up front.

Friend of mine dropped is iPad 2 and broke the glass on one corner, they switched it after asking about the one-time replacement policy. Another fried did this with a iPod Touch.

Surprised you guys don't know about this. I don't even own any Apple hardware :p

What are the conditions of this "one time replacement policy" you speak of?
So, basically, if there is a small dent, crack on the screen, or any other cosmetic damage, Apple will replace it for free no-questions-asked? ANYPRODUCT?

Could be an iDevice only policy.. Don't think it covers the MacBook line for example. But yes you can use your one time replacement policy for accidental damage.

And like I said, the Genius won't usually bring it up. My friend with the iPod Touch was told it would cost X amount to fix it until he said "Can I use the one time replacement policy?" and the Genius said "Yes... you can."

The dude was just asking a question...but as others stated, best bet is to find a cover for it...I must say though, to have your iPad unprotected for this long, you sir, are bold :D

I has a Smart Cover on but I guess that doesn't really cover the corners.

Is it really a policy, or is it one of those vague "at the discretion of the genius" things? Is there some time limit within which you can ask for a replacement?

Just days after I got my iPad, I put it on pile of stuff. It slid off, and fell just inches onto the counter, but bumped something on the way and got a small dent along one edge. It's really quite minor, and I've since put a case on it so I can't even see it, but somehow it really bugs me knowing that it's there. I don't think that I'm usually this obsessive, and it seems silly to replace an iPad for a small nick. But it's good to know if there is such a policy.

No, it doesn't. If you have EIDD (Excessive iPad Dropping Disorder), you should consider an Otterbox. BTW, I am not trying to be mean - I know people who literally drop it every 2 minutes and I recommend the same to them.
As per me, if I dropped it, I would move on with my life as it is nothing more than a materialistic device with productive value to me. I don't cry over my broken gadgets as some (not the OP) apparently are on the first page (and how in the world does the queen have anything to do with this, seriously).

Yes I agree. It is not very noticeable, but I just thought that I should ask here to see if there could be something done. It hasn't really bothered me since then.

My brother smashed his iPad between the couch and a wall. He is headed to the Apple store today to fork over the $269 for a replacement. Be honest and pay up, guys.

If it doesn't bother you, just ignore it. If you don't like the sight of it, get a case. That's what I would do. Till the time it is working OK, you don't need to spend the cash to fix it. But that is your choice.

2 pages later and a couple low blows, still not covered by apples warranty.

how many of these do we see on here? tons.. if it makes you mad, don't reply.

This is simply not true or BS, which ever you want to call it. Replacement is at the descression of the Geek or particular store.

Why spread false information?
