She almost died to her own stupidity. That’s the humor. It shows how ridiculous ppl are to risk their lives over a phone. It’s called dark humor.Like you said "a woman almost died", so where's the humour exactly? But honestly, to then finish the article with "she was not able to retrieve her iPhone." is quite crap really and is quite bottom shelf for MR.
That’s what makes it even more funnierAll that and she didn't get her iPhone back? What a bummer

I did because the whining was hilarious. You don’t have to comment either, and yet you quoted 6 people.
It's a lame sensationalist news story at best, just begging for controversial response.LOL… ya anyone stupid enough to risk their life for a device. Darwin theory in action. I hope they charge her for the cost of the rescue, like they would in my country for stupid incidents like this.
Of course you’re speculating about the lack of backups. But yes, they can bury her along with her phone full of “memories”. It’s what she would have wanted (apparently). It's a lame sensationalist news story at best, just begging for controversial response.
But then also consider the focal importance of a device when most iP or Android users don't actually have a backup of ALL their photos, videos, memories, recorded voice messages of loved ones no longer alive. Then at that moment people will risk much to preserve what little they have left. Perhaps you've some empathy to consider such choices people make.
What's wrong with you? This isn't dark humour. It's obvious from all your replies so far that you've never ever lost a loved one due to unfortunate circumstances, or you're a troll, or a psychopath. One day however it will catch up with you.She almost died to her own stupidity. That’s the humor. It shows how ridiculous ppl are to risk their lives over a phone. It’s called dark humor.
I’m sure there are more high brow iPhone sites if you need them. Oh wait. I think one just shut down.
A woman literally almost died trying to retrieve an iPhone that she can easily replace. Yes it is dark humor. Yes it’s hilarious. What's wrong with you? This isn't dark humour. And see in this case I wouldn’t find it funny. He was a thrill seeker. Still stupid in my opinion but at least he had a purpose. Had he survived he could have potentially contributed something with his asinine experience. There have been terrible deaths from similar circumstances. There's the case of John Edward Jones who went headfirst down a cave tunnel in Utah nicknamed the birth canal. He got stuck and every time he breathed in, he slipped further down and would get even more stuck breathing out. Very quickly, he was barely able to breathe at all with each breath further compressing his chest as he slipped millimeter by millimeter down the tunnel. Not only could rescuers not get him out, but he didn't last very long since being upside down is completely unnatural to humans and is quickly fatal. He died within a day and his body is still there today since the rescuers couldn't get him out. They ended up using explosives to collapse the tunnel to keep it from happening again. That cave became his tomb. He wasn't chasing an iPhone. He just wanted to explore the caves.
I'm "speculating" on people doing desperate things faced with severe limitations of what they have left in their life. Did that point somehow not come across to you?Of course you’re speculating about the lack of backups. But yes, they can bury her along with her phone full of “memories”. It’s what she would have wanted (apparently).
Whoever said some adults were just tall babies was SO right LOL... No sense of danger whatsoever. Oh well.
Australian woman Matilda Campbell ended up trapped in a tight rock crevice upside down after she fell trying to retrieve an iPhone that she dropped, according to a report from ABC Newcastle...
@jimthing pls feel free to justify how people dying for any reason is ok for you. What's wrong with you? This isn't dark humour. It's obvious from all your replies so far that you've never ever lost a loved one due to unfortunate circumstances, or you're a troll, or a psychopath. One day however it will catch up with you.
Don't put words in people's mouth. And stop trying to cause controversy when no one is here to do so.@jimthing pls feel free to justify how people dying for any reason is ok for you.
hanging upside down by her feet
In short, it's awful you laughing about the death of others. Perhaps if one day you're immediately affected, you'll realise this and how ridiculous and detached your comments have been as an anonymous entity here.A woman literally almost died trying to retrieve an iPhone that she can easily replace. Yes it is dark humor. Yes it’s hilarious.
This was not an unfortunate circumstance. An unfortunate circumstance is that woman who got cooked alive at Walmart because she got stuck in a walk in oven.
A woman going into a crevice VOLUNTARILY to get an iPhone she dropped isn’t unfortunate.
it’s stupid.
Cut the melodrama and laugh or scroll on. Either way it’s funny.
I can’t imagine my mom receiving a phone call saying I died in a crevice. Not because of a freak accident. Nope. I tried to retrieve an iPhone lmao.
Y’all are hilarious and your response is making this even more hilarious.
And you’re sensitive. Water is wet. And I’m hungry. The world moved on. And you’ll get over it or don’t.In short, you're an idiot, laughing about the death of others. Perhaps if one day you're immediately affected, you'll realise this and how ridiculous and detached your comments have been as an anonymous entity here.
