I thought the same, but it does speak to the attachment, dependence, and somewhat fetishizing relationship some of us have with our phones.Dumbest title of a MacRumors article in the history of MacRumors. The title should be “stupid woman gets herself jammed in a crevice chasing after iPhone.”
MENSA tier problem solving right here.drop a magsafe charger tied to a rope.
I believe the "who confuses correlation and causation" part is redundant.Who is responsible for the clickbait headlines?
"Dropped iPhone Causes Woman to Be Trapped Upside Down in Rock Crevice for Hours"
The difference between causality and correlation needs to be explained perhaps...

Quite clearly they didn't.It’s headlines like these that stopped me using social media websites.
I don’t think Macrumors counts as “social media.” It’s neither social nor media.Quite clearly they didn't.
There's a very, very big difference between justifying people dying, and justifying people laughing at someone almost dying. Or even laughing at someone dying, which isn't even the case here.@jimthing pls feel free to justify how people dying for any reason is ok for you.
I disagree with both, but I understand that people have different definitions of the same things.I don’t think Macrumors counts as “social media.” It’s neither social nor media.
I was referring to the mainstream ones, like Facebook and Twitter/XQuite clearly they didn't.
What a strange response.Oh well. Build a Time Machine and go back. Whining does nothing.
While I do think the situation is funny, I think people are being quite harsh calling it stupidity. She dropped a thing, she tried to lean down to get it back, she slipped and fell. I know a person who is blind after missing a step on some stairs. **** happens, you don't have to be stupid for unfortunate things to happen. I don't believe any single person in this thread calling her stupid, hasn't done anything in their life that is at least equally stupid, and could have gotten them killed if they were unlucky. But hey, maybe one person exists that never crossed a road without looking both ways.LOL… ya anyone stupid enough to risk their life for a device. Darwin theory in action. I hope they charge her for the cost of the rescue, like they would in my country for stupid incidents like this.
Misleading title, should read…
Dropped iPhoneStupidity Causes Woman to Be Trapped Upside Down in Rock Crevice for Hours
I know, I'm just pointing out the irony that the exact mindset you display in your complaint is what caused those services to be junkyards. You engaged with the article, which makes the article seem succesful, so now we get more.I was referring to the mainstream ones, like Facebook and Twitter/X
It might as well have been her hat.I thought the same, but it does speak to the attachment, dependence, and somewhat fetishizing relationship some of us have with our phones.
The headline is misleading as the causation is indirect. But it is definitely not a correlation. The difference between causality and correlation needs to be explained
I believe the "who confuses correlation and causation" part is redundant.
