I'm sorta disappointed... read through all these replies and not one reference to the original poster "holding it wrong"... :p

you really put it in the oven?

According to Apple:
Environmental requirements
Nonoperating temperature: -4° to 113° F
(-20° to 45° C)

So you must keep the oven below 113 F, or you risk doing even more serious damage to the device.

Make sure the iPhone is completely off (press both buttons for 15 seconds if not). If the water in the toilet wasn't "clean", I'd consider immediately redunking the phone in distilled or deionized water, as even slightly salty water can do really nasty things to electronics.

The bag of dry uncooked rice trick can take up to a week or more to completely desiccate a device, so be very patient. Try not to play with it after just a day or so. You can wrap the device in a tissue or cloth handkerchief so that rice crumbs don't get stuck in the headphone jack.

YMMV.

Skip rice. use a flower desacant. you can get it in craft stores. takes all the moisture out of anything. seal it up in a bag or tupperware or something, and let it sit for a few days.

Texting while using the restroom. Checking a message or answering a call while in the restroom. There are many ways.

I never use my phone while on the toilet. NOTHING is so important that it can't wait until I'm done. NOTHING.

I only read the 1st Post, throw it in the trash and order a new one, whats the big deal....

I know many people who have told me they browse the web while on the toilet.

If you take it back, don't tell them it was pee-pee water, tell them it was rinse water for dishes. That will make them want to help you more readily, if you know what I mean.

I thought the replacement for water damaged iPhone's was for out of warranty only?

The phone has been harmed (in this case, because of water damage, but a cracked screen counts too), therefore the warranty is voided, so the phone is out of warranty.

Well my wife dropped hers in a cooler full of ice at the beach 2 weeks ago. It was in there for 20 mins before we noticed. I ran it back to the hotel and pulled sim tray stuck phone in the air conditioner vent for a bout 8 hours. I was then able to turn it back on. The strange thing was it never tripped the water sensor in the dock connector. I decided at that point to pull apart phone and dry it out cause there was water under the camera lens. Used a can of compressed air from the shack and got it 99% dry inside. At that point there was actually water between the screen and the digitizer...looked really cool.:D I noticed when we dis assembled it the water sensors inside where bright red:mad: I decided on the way home we would stop at the apple store and try and unload the thing. I left the phone on the dash plugged in to the car charger to get the phone as hot as possible to cook out the remaining water under the screen. Well 2 hour drive later the damn phone was perfect so I was trying to figure out what BS story to tell them so we could exchange it. Sure enough my wife noticed that there was debris under camera lens,,,BINGO. Walked in and waited 2 hours for a walk in appointment...trust me I was getting rid of this puppy. Finally store is now closed mall is closed and they are still seeing people. He was in such a hurry to get us out of there he looked at the spot turned around and grabbed phone from the drawer and off we went....

I have now cashed in my IP4 Mulligan card:D:D:D:D:D
