OK, I understand why people are upset, and certainly don't mind a little venting, but you have to understand that there are some pitfalls in ordering a just-announced product that does not exist yet - you have to wait for it to exist for it to ship, all promises of ship dates aside.
Look at it this way. You make a date with a woman for two weeks from today at 6:00. On the day of the date, your boss tells you you have to work until 6. You call your date and apologize, but tell her you will be late. Surprisingly, you get out of work at 5, so you call her again and tell her you will be there at 6 after all. But, darn the bad luck, on the way there you have a flat tire and you make it there an hour late. Now none of this is your fault or hers, and as long as no one gets ticked off and cancels the whole thing you can still go out and have a great time. If you do, then by the end of the date no one will remember or care that it got off to a rocky start.
II think that Apple made their initial ship estimate in good faith, but stuff happens. The last thing you want to do is run off and cancel your order, or settle for a slower machine than you really want just because you can have it today. By this fall, the waiting game will be a memory and you will be enjoying your tower of power.
