RogerB said:Mine did in fact arrive this afternoon and I have been transferring everything from my Powerbook. Unfortunately I forgot to turn off the menu display for the battery and Airport. Now I have to locate the pref that is keeping hem there on the G5.
It was not an empty box nor a dual 2.0...![]()
Only 1 problem so far - the superdrive would not open. It was misaligned and pressing the front of the drive case down from the inside solved the problem.
The extended hardware test found no problems.
Here is a pic of the box with the Apple label, MacMall labels, packing list, etc.

I hope that clears up questions from the non-believers...

Crucial definitely at the top, OWC seems a little higher priced for me (especially when they're less than forthcoming about the chips they use), Kingston is more of a hit-or-miss proposition at this point, and I have a soft spot for Corsair and/or Mushkin myself, but that's just a personal preference. When in doubt, you can never go wrong with Crucial.Photo Man said:Apple's $2,100 for 2gb of RAM is out of the question, so besides that, which RAM is the best?
OWC, Crucial?
Thanks. I'm thinking about 1gb sticks
No way, don't ever do this. Apple is worth it. Just picture yourself behind that great G5 in the next couple of weeks. Are you picturing it yet? See? You're great! The wait os worth it. We are all waiting.... even i, knowing your machine is only a 1 hour drive away.... Should i snatch it or not....matlo said:I've now actually started considering becoming a 'switcher' , you don't have this much trouble ordering from DELL.:
whookam said:My rep has emailed me back today saying Apple's official response is that no G5's have been sent to the UK. We all know this to be Bull.
Like somebody requested before, I am asking for anyone with UK a COMPLETED Apple UK order to PM or Email me with their order number. I'd be most grateful and just maybe Apple will get a b*llocking from somebody with a little clout!
Cheers,
Steve
