Still no email, still no credit card activity. I am going away this weekend, so I guess not getting the G5 until monday or later is ok (as long as it comes before next weekend).

Still 8/20 (or 20/8) for me on the Apple site, no "dreaded email" yet. Mine has a 6800 so I am most definitely not going to be surprised if it slips again. It would be nice to know if Apple even has the 6800s in yet, but I won' tlose any sleep. It will get here when it gets here.

I got my 7/30 email at around 8PM EST on 7/29.

Am hoping it's so they can change the text on the displays to Now Shipping 30" Cinema Displays (which subsequently means they're shipping Nvidea 6800 cards). Fingers crossed.
NB: I never did get around to cancelling my order as threatened last night...

I have mine here and have tested it with my G5 and 20" display - works great in case anyone was wondering.
I would bet that your G5 will come in first. I have it on good authority that there will be a flood of G5 shipments in the next few days...

Surprizing as it may be, they did ship my monitor with Saturday delivery. I got it in one day (once they finally shipped it). Mine came from CA to CA
The Apple Store already had them in stock. I was ready to cancel when I got the e-mail on the same day...then I track the number and it was set for Saturday delievery, so I had to come into the office and wait for it.

I know it's no consolation for those of you who are waiting, but the irony is really funny: this is identical, almost to the exact dates, as last year with the original release of the G5. and take heart - us early adopters (dual 2 ordered june 26 last year) were getting bumped into late september and october. so always remember - it could be worse.

The best situation is that they can make all of these 8/20 orders and next year not have to push any orders back at all with the next wave of G5's.
Finally...
My July 1st Apple Store order was dual 2.5, 250GB HD upgrade, stock RAM and video, minus 56K modem. I called on Monday Aug 16th to address some odd red text on the Order Status page saying there was a problem with my credit card. After speaking with the Apple rep she told me the problem was resolved, and that my computer was in California - due to ship on Wednesday the 18th!!!. Sure enough, I went to check my credit card status and my "available credit" was reduced by the amount of purchase. When I called yesterday (the 18th) they were able to confirm the computer was indeed in California, however it was still only guaranteed to ship "on or before Aug. 20th," as is displayed on the Order Status screen...As of today, Aug. 19th there is still no change to my credit card (except the previously mentioned reduction in available credit), or the Order Status page........p.s. I tried providing my order info to the dude with the Excel spreadsheet via his auto-input web page, but when I checked his .xls file hardchemist was not one of the entries.

I specifically asked whether the 6800 was holding up any orders, and the person told me that they haven't been given any information at all on the cards.MilesAhead said:
