I don't know if any of you remember or not, but earlier in the week, I tried to change the shipping address (actually only the suite number) of my G5 order.

It was part of a bigger order which had shipped. After going through 4 people (including the managing supervisor) I was told that they couldn't change the order because part of it had shipped. "That is just the way it is and that there was nothing they could do about it." They even recommend that I wait by the door of the old suite number on the scheduled delivery day!
Well, I was checking through my old e-mails and I found an e-mail dated June 25th, the day after my order was placed, stating that they HAD corrected the address.
So I called AGAIN! I didn't bring up the other day, and just said that the suite number was wrong in the order AND THE GUY FIXED IT WITHOUT EVEN ASKING ANY QUESTIONS! Then he said that the order was on hold because the address didn't match the credit card. DUH! I KNOW! THAT IS WHY I WAS TRYING TO CHANGE IT.
He was very nice, and put me through to the payment department. Another guy got on and put me on hold and called the credit card company. He got an authorization and address verification. He said that he was releasing the order and that I should get an e-mail that it has shipped ::rolling my eyes in disbelief:: Still there is no activity on my credit card online.
It seems like every time I call there about anything...I never get the same response. I am relieved that I did call and that everything is okay, now, BUT I TRIED TO DO THAT ON MONDAY! And what would have happened had I not called?
This has been more frustrating that buying a house!

Out of 54 remaining "on or before" Aug ship dates, 16 reports for today are in. on the spreadsheet look under the "date of ship notice" column (F) to see who has checked in today and what the news is. Also check the news column to read all the new info coming out today.
Only 6 shipment announcements have come today.
The majority of news as of 2:30 pm USA mountain time is....NOTHING.
We are on the edge of what could be a mass shipment email notice that is going out tonight or tomorrow.
AND ON THE SCARIER SIDE
We are only a couple hours away in the USA from a mass email that could announce a slip in the Aug 20 shipping date.
FINALLY - the moment of truth is about to arrive.

Hey does any one have a real system comparison of there new 2.5, with a 2.0 and some real bench marks from call of duty and so on. What is the fps on there new system with a 9800xt and a 9600xt, so on.

people ordering through resellers, does your mac come directly to your house or does it go to the reseller and is then directly shipped out again?

Here's a simple tip for every one of you. It generates way too much call volume, but if they can't keep the supervisors who give the pre-shift briefing the right info, or if they can't get their crap together info wise, do this:
Call....ask the question....get the answer....HANG UP.....Repeat this about 6 times (at least)
You'll eventually sort out the clueless people answering the phone from the more informed, and you'll get much better info than if you accept what one person says and give up.

I haven't recieved any info since the original 8/20 delay email, but there is still one more day. Hoping!
As well, to answer an earlier question about Canadian orders. Not Yet, with the possible exception of Duff Man,hopefully. Congrats Man!

And let's hope we see that 50% of the G5 orders moving, but I bet it's only 50% of the us-orders..

The apple is starting to turn sour folks. Apple engineering wants my unit back for testing ASAP. More people are experiencing the same problem. Don't be in a hurry to get your unit! And by all means, BUY APPLECARE!!

They don't think it's a graphic card issue. I was told it may be connected to the processors. Possible IBM quality issue???
I posted my delay notice earlier and I have just remembered what happed last time, last time they sent out delay notices and then shipped product to those that had recieved the notices.
God I hope my 2.5 and NV6800 ships tomorow.

I got the 9800XT for gaming purposes, and when the 6800 wes announced, I WAS NOT about to change my order and therefore delay my whole system.
I'm quite pleased with my 9800XT. It's plenty fast enough for CYC:Generals and UT2004, and I don't get any of these wavy lines or other visual artifacts. My 2.5 GHz G5 system has been fast and stable, and I'm pleased I decided to stick with the 9800XT. I can always order a 6800 later, right? It's only money...

No it's not the processor, it's probably the drivers.
We know it only effects 9600's, we know it effects the fan speed (which is controlled by software).
We also know there were new drivers just released, and the 9600 was not previously offered.
Someone could try putting a 9600 in another G5, I'd imagine there will be similar results.
