Multiple Models due to Network? NOOOOOOO :<

This SUCKS! So, if I buy for AT&T in USA I won't be able to switch to Verizon, I won't be able to use it on 3G, and I won't be able to use it at all overseas? WTF!

Talk about FRAGMENTED!

Ah, the old fashioned last-minute-news-article-where-we-are-reposting-the-most-likely-rumours-we-have-heard-in-the-past-few-months-and-claim-its-from-our-sources-article.

So why have two separate versions ? That doesn't make sense.

Yup. And next we will see iFixIt do a video teardown of it.

:D

both use different 3G signals the LTE is primary but the LTE is not available in all areas thus the device would be used on the 3G networks.
I really could care less about LTE or HD graphics if they leave the memory at 16 / 32 / 64 which would make the 16g model useless you use if for internet browzing or ebook reading only! Apple bought the plant that makes the memory chips so it would cost them less now than before!

Another Apple controlled leak to find out where the leaks are coming from...

You think Apple is really going to confuse consumers by offering 3 variations of cellular connectivity? 3G, Verizon LTE, ATT LTE... not happening

I'd guess that they will also support each carrier's 3G bands. I'm an AT&T customer so I'm not that familiar with Verizon but don't all of their LTE phones also work on their 3G network?

Do people not realise that a Double-Core A15 chip is better than a Quad-Core A9? Which is hopefully what Apple will be doing

If the rumors pan out tomorrow, it is good news all around! Someone post that pic of Fry saying 'shut up and take my money' for me! :D

Read carefully---the 3G model will be available internationally (i.e. outside the US). The number of models available in the US tomorrow will be no different than for the iPad 2 (6 Wifi, 6 Verizon, 6 AT&T).

Only a a5? Kinda disappointed. Im not a spec lover but exactly desame architecture and processor kinda sucks... :(

Isn't 4G LTE the same on AT&T and Verizon ?

Me thinks people have the iPad HD confused with the Apple TV HD

iPad 3 and Apple TV HD.

Cool. You managed three posts as opposed to the usual 2 on first page... No offense meant : usually great informative posts after the initial rush.

Back to the forum, This sure is an iPad 2 upgrade as opposed to an all new iPad 3. I think it might be better to hold onto the iPad 2 until the 3 comes next year... Or better yet, an 8 inch with retina in October.

Unlikely that the A15 will be ready for this iPad. Anyway, the article states that the CPU is essentially the same as the one in the A5, just with more RAM (well, thank goodness for small mercies) and an improved GPU.

Now let's hope that the storage is increased, contrary to recent speculation.

Same device should work accross verizon & att. If I spend ~$700 on an iPad I should not be tied to a carrier.

Well, if the A5X is announced tomorrow, it looks like the guys at Apple are still testing out the A6, squeezing in 4 cores for the 2013 iOS devices. Really excited!!

I still don't buy it. I feel like we will be seeing just 3G again, and AT&T's HSPA+.

Separate Models???

Separate iPad models, that makes no sense for me. Apple tried to combine the different iPhone models and released the iPhone 4s "worldphone". Why should they release a new iPad "and make the same "mistake" in producing serveral models.

No.

AT&T uses the same standard that the rest of the world is using.

If you buy it on AT&T, you can roam. So you can use it overseas.

Your not tied to any carrier, its unlocked. Its just a limitation of Verizon's ancient technology.

Verizon's LTE Phones have to fall back to CDMA to go on 3G, and to make calls.

Although 21Mbps would be better then nothing, at least it will have more networks to run on.

Please have enough RAM for RAW photo editing. That would be awesome to show off on a retina display iPad.
