I actually feel physically sick looking at that photo

So sorry mate, that's horrendous

Wow... Totally sucks.

If you're eager enough to have an iPad now though, I would run by a BestBuy or an Apple Store so at least holding a new iPad will offset some of the crappy experience from this. Good luck and I hope you get a complete refund and hopefully a little something extra.

They can't mark down refused if you have the package. Did you sign for it? Did they say anything about delivering it damaged and marking that down in their PowerPad?

If things don't go well with FedEx or Apple resolving this, I'd call your local news station and tell them about this and you might get a story... I bet they don't want you doing that.

I think the FedEx driver conned you into signing for it and making it your problem. Usually, almost universally always, whenever you refuse something you have to sign for, you don't keep it, they do, and they send it back to Apple.

Did you power it up?

If it works, you might not be able to see the scratchs with the retina display.
It might be a keeper.

Seriously, I hope you didn't accept the package.
If you did, it might be hard to return it.

I hope this is a joke... look at it!

Just take everything there to the nearest Apple store. They will replace it with little issue.

They might not because unless he has proof the damage was done by FedEx, they can only assume he did the damage himself.

He should have refused the package, not signed & let them take it.

Apple doesn't replace physically abused products because that's not normal wear and tear usage.

Holy heck! I figured I was coming into joke thread. Dang, that sucks. Let us know what happens.

I'm wondering how it got in a position where the driver could have run over it ...

I've had them replace cracked screens with no questions asked. If he takes the entire package to the Apple Store and calmly explains the situation, I doubt they'll turn him away.

god you guys are ridiculous all the "I'm SO SO sorry" christ its not a human being or an animal or something.. its an object it can be replaced. Luckily it wasn't a person who was run over or something...

Get a grip, it sucks it happened but its really not that bad... they have to replace it

FedEx driver admits to running over my new iPad. Totally Sucks.

Then FedEx says that all they can do it mark the package "refused" and I have to take it up with Apple. Unbelievable.

Why, oh why, did you accept it?!?! You should have refused to take possession of it in the first place.... would have been sent back to Apple as damaged in transit or other.

Sucks man. Hugging my new iPad just a little tighter. Keep 'em close people!

Man that sucks... You should really get FedEx to get you a new iPad or you should take it up legally. they destroyed you package, they pay for it. Simple !

So... op... did the Fedex guy take it back with him after you took that pic or what?

That is the real question that no one knows.

That's what I'm wondering. How did that one package get under the truck.

That sucks, but at the same time at least supply seems to be good so if you could get Apple to cancel the order outright (not exactly sure how that would go.. but seems like they should work with you) then you could probably still pick one up locally rather than wait for another delivery.

Mine had a dent on it and i called apple about it. The guy told me I have to send it in ASAP and they'll order me a new one which will get here in 2-3 weeks. Uhhh no. So I asked if i can just go trade it at the apple store and he said no that they need it back and they wouldnt take it anyways. Then i said "ok i'll just keep this one" he said "no sorry you have to send it in now because it might be a factory defect" Biggest bull$#% in the world. I have never been more annoyed in my life. So then I call back and talk to another guy and he cancels the replacement and now im just sending it back for a refund. Already bought another at the apple store. :D
