He's dead wrong. I've had mine a while, and know other people with the case that have had it for a long time now... no issues. He would be the ONLY person i've heard of with a cracked incase slider, ever.

That said, i'd have to say he probably did something to mess it up....

he did i think, used too much pressure or something but he was just complaining about it, he did say the bottom part has slid off unknown to him...

Somone that owned this case told me that it cracked within a few weeks of use. told me to avoid it like the plauge. also said the 'dockable' version he had the bottom part got loose and was worried it would just slide off unknown to him.

That's either on him or it was just a poorly manufactured case.

I've personally seen 5 perfect Slider cases (including the iPod) and have not heard of anyone saying anything of the sort about that case.

One of the best cases out there. I still have mine as a backup to my Seidio.

The only thing I didn't like is it made my phone feel big. And it's even considered one of the "slimmer" cases. :p

sorry he was talking about a different case. when i mentioned slider he said its one of the best cases out there... whoops. sorry.

I think all iPhones will eventually get some dust under the screen. I had an iPod touch that got inundated with dust. Getting replacements is fruitless, IMO, unless you have a serious problem with the phone.

I have the anti-glare and the incase slider. I noticed some lint/dust the other day that I thought was under my anti-glare so I took it off and realized it was under the glass. I dont think the anti-glare or slider case will prevent anyone from getting dust. The speaker hole is still uncovered as well as the rim around the chrome bezel, which I suspect is where the dust gets in there.
I went to the apple store the other day and asked if I could exchange it and they said sure thing. I might wait it out though to see if Apple decides to maybe fix this problem.

ive been noticing that the bottom part of the screen of my iphone has a slight yellow tint compared to the rest of the screen. Its hard to notice at first but if you read a article with the phone horizontal and your eyes are going side to side the slight yellow tint becomes more obvious to your eyes its annoying. Anyone else have this problem? and how can i check for dust.

I posted on here a while ago about a few specks of dust under my screen and asked the question about an replacement. Mine's a launch day iPhone. Well today I decided to pop into my local apple store whilst I was at the mall shopping. They replaced it with no problems! I was expecting to at least have to provide receipts, but they just took serial number.

On another note, since I only went in to enquire about replacement, I hadn't reset it. It was jailbroken too! Luckily I had hiden cydia and winterboard etc they actually did a hardware scan! My heart was in my mouth for a little, but it didn't find anything. Since it was a cosmetic issue rather than hardware, I don't think it would have been too much of an issue.

I have a few dust particles under my screen and want to replace it. However i have dropped my phone a couple times and it has some scratches on the back plastic. Do you think they would still replace it if i just went in bc of the dust? or would they give me trouble for the scratches. also i got my iphone about 4 months ago but it has warranty for a year.

I went in with a huge crack in the glass, pointed out the dust, which I said had been in there for a while, and they replaced it right away. I was stunned. Your mileage may vary.

Wow I've been reading everyone's replacement stories and I'm super surprised. Did they give everyone NEW iphones or refurbished iphones? Since coming on this thread I now have noticed dust under my screen. I'm not sure if its the screen protector, but i doubt it. So what are my chances of getting it replaced? I don't mind getting a refurb, I've been reading that people are really happy about their refurbs. Will they actually make me pull off my screen protector to support my case that its actually under the glass? Please respond, thanks.

EDIT: I actually looked even closer and yeah its under the glass. Do I have a good chance?

So I decided to go to Apple today. The mac genius was a total douche. All they offered me was servicing, by replacing the screen. I mean what the hell does that do. It solves the problem temporarily but then who wants a person to open up their iphone in a store and have even worse things happen. So I asked for my iphone back and walked out the store. I was so angry, I decided to do a google search for the next closest one and went to that one. Best service ever. The genius quickly saw that there was dust literally under the screen and no questions asked offered to switch it for a refurb, AND even offered to save my screen protector and transfer it over to the new iphone. Man how awesome is that? When i asked what would happen to my screen protector at the first Apple store all he said was "there isn't a warranty on screen protectors."

That second Apple store is my new hit up for anything Apple related, even though its out of the way.

i think all the 3g iphones have dust under the screen. i've been through a few so far and they all have dust. take a look at it with the screen off, in natural daylight. you'll see some. poor, poor quality control.

You know, now that I'm on my fifth replacement iPhone 3G - ALL of which have had dust under the glass - I'd have to say I'm inclined to agree.

In fact, not only have the five phones I've owned had this problem, but EVERY time I go to the Apple Store to get my phone replaced, I end up looking at and refusing two or three replacements due to excessive dust under the glass. That means all fifteen to twenty of the iPhone 3Gs I've personally inspected have had this problem.

Quality control? What quality control??

What do they check besides the serial number? Do they check the receipts or any other documents? My iPhone has dust under the glass and it is still under the warranty but way passed 90 days. And plus I don't have any documents to prove that I purchased this phone. Am I still going to get replacement? Thanks!

The warranty is 1 year and you don't need to bring them any documents proving you purchased the phone. Just make sure you back your iPhone up on your computer, then bring it to them. Chances are, they'll replace it if there's an issue with it.

I just want to chime in. I have probably about 8 pieces of dust under my glass and a few of them are large white pieces. They're very noticeable. I don't know if I could risk bringing this one back to Apple to get one that has different problems such as:

Light Leaks
Uneven Glass
Crooked Buttons
Cracks
Bubbles in Plastic
Horizontal Lines in Screen
Dead Pixels
Wobbly Buttons
etc...

Anyone know if there's a way to perhaps move the dust or suck it out or something?

If your replacement were to have any of those issues, you could get a different one.

Some issues are harder to get replaced. Most people don't care or even see lines in the screen, but I do. This is my 4th iPhone already.

Ive had 5 iPhones replaced and I am tired of this. Most of them due to cracking which was excessive. I decided all will have cracking and light leak at some point. Apple service has been great, but I think the quality control and materials are cheap. I would now be happy with no dead pixels. Hopefully the next generation iPhone has better build quality.
