Here is my Review on the e13ctron case

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHU8MAcYkZ4

Great review, I think we are on the same page as far as alot of the good and bad points of the case go. Losing 1 bar doesn't sound like a big deal, but depending on where you live it could be a big deal. Not only am I losing 1 bar but my wifi distance has been cut almost in half and my gps is not 100% accurate. It takes a while to lock in and most of the time it is very close to me when I am driving but its not right on top of me like it should be. But to me that 3G lose in speed is what I hate the most. I am seeing a pretty significant lose and that drives me crazy. The headphone jack is my other real complain, I can not even use my straight plugged Bose headphones with this case because they will not lock in so I am stuck back with the apple headphones again. It's probably the best aluminum case on the market that I have seen. I should be getting the blade anytime but I am not really expecting to much from it either to be honest. But all in all this is a good case, just not perfect like people seem to think it is. But very good review, you were exactly right on just about every point I would have made.

Greetings all from Singapore! Having owned Alumacase, Atomic Hybrid Composite, Case Mate Jett, my current silver / black e13ctron case is my 4th (& possibly last!) aluminum case.

My impressions are similar to many positive reports here. The finish is very smooth and well polished. Hopefully, from the pictures, you can see how well the front & back halves seamlessly fit together. Wifi/GPS/phone reception are not an issue, at least for me - I didn't notice any signal drop, mainly because phone reception is generally good in my country, so I'm usually getting 3 to 5 bars. The case is more sleek than the Atomic and very nice to hold. The e13ctron folks are also very responsive to my emails and shipping is fast.

The best part? I'm able to use my earphone cable after some modification to the 3.5mm plug. For audiophiles who's keen to know my setup, its an ALO Audio SXC silver-plated copper cable paired with JH Audio 16 Pro customs.

Now scratching my head over the next color combo! Happy holidays everyone!

Looks really good!

wwyjoe, we must think alike! I found that if I cut the plastic on my UE10 IEMs plug around just the metal collar at the base of the plug they fit great with this case. (I also have the same CF on the back).

Black/Clear looks super!

Cool Jon! We can kiss earphone adapters goodbye!

For benefit of others who's considering to do likewise, here's the modification I've done. Disclaimer: It's a relatively easy task cutting away the black plastic, but do it at your own risk!

Also, I initially had some issues removing the screws from the case using the included allen tool, probably due to over-tightening. Fortunately, managed to grab a dedicated allen screwdriver, which makes loosening the screws a breeze!

Quick slightly off topic question--where did you get these cables? I have not seen this connector on any of the custom cables I have seen?

PS: Clever color combo with your black and white IEMs!!

I just love this case! here's mine in blue/silver.

Reminds me of the 3g/3gs look!

just ordered an Orange top today.

i love this case! now i have the Blue and Red tops with my Light Gray Back. Orange will be awesome!

my Blade has been spending more time in my drawer now. :(

Vapor is coming in few days! i'll do some comparisons again.

The S4 provides protection on both the front and back when laying it down, the edges are slightly taller than the phone's faces. Or is that what you mean by "almost"?
Yes. The problem I see is that while the case looks great, the protection it provides, other than the sides/edges covered by aluminum, is questionable in my opinion.

This is true of almost every bumper style case though (besides the impactBand).

I doubt anyone is buying this as a replacement for the Otterbox.

Level of protection ??

Has anyone had the e13ctron case on their Iphone and dropped their phone? I am really interested in this case and the reviews and information provided here by the users is very helpful.
I currently use the apple bumper case and it really protects my phone, I've dropped it a few times and nothing has ever happened. I just don't like the rubber feel to it.
If you own this case and have dropped it - can you please send an update as to what if any damage you incurred?
I'm curious about a hard case on a hard phone-- does it provide any drop protection?

Thanks.

Hex key size?

On a side note does anyone know what the size of the hex wrench we use for the screws? I went down to the hardware store to get a screwdriver style hex key dealy-bobber! Cant find the right size for the screws!
