I qualify for the promo pricing on apples page

Now verizon is posting that they are going to fix Apple's page. No annual upgrades are being allowed for the iPhone, even though you can get any other phone on the entire site as an annual upgrade.

Does anyone else feel slighted by this decision?

I used my annual upgrade in December for an Incredible.
I called today and asked if I can still return it and Verizon said yes. Shipped it back today.

iPhone 4 on February 3rd for me :) :) :)

Where did you hear that? That doesn't make sense...

Answered on the verizon website forums, and also by a tweet on verizon support.

Yes, it makes no sense. They give us all annual upgrades and yet disallow one and only one thing from using it. So, you have to pay full price of $699 and then when your contract expires...they have no way to hold on to you. It makes no sense at all.

I've wanted an iPhone forever. AT&T screwed me over and I wasn't able to get it there, so now I'm with Verizon and enjoying the service and now this. It seems the only way I'll ever get one is to just pay full price, and once my contract is up, never sign again....its just stupid.

Yeah where was that confirmed...the other guy said verizon is fixing discrepencies. That doesnt mean no upgrades for iphone. If they do that then they won't sell **** for phones. If that is the case i will cancel. Cant be much 175 minus 14 months into the contract. Whats that like 35 dollar etf?

Do you have links to both, please?
As my above post says, this pisses me off if it's true because I just returned my Incredible today that was used for my annual upgrade.

Yeah links? If this is true this will be awful pr for vzw i cant believe they would do everything at&t did to piss off customers.

You would think they would want people to upgrade to an iPhone, especially if you are coming from a "dumb" phone. They would probably make more money.

Yea why wouldnt they let almost anyone upgrade...i think this is over reacting and disinformation.

Here's the link to the thread, it should go straight to the post.

And here's the Verizon support posting on Twitter:

I don't think this is right of them to do at all. This is an annual upgrade we earned, not something special...its out there to be used for any phone they have, and now they pull this stunt?

I read both links. I'm not doubting you, since these are your sources, but I honestly think these Verizon employees don't know what they're talking about. I can't think about any instance where not offering only the iPhone makes sense. There isn't ONE logical explanation.

What's the point in this? At this rate, on Feb. 3rd, I can't see that many people buying.

I'm so frustrated with my lack of luck in dealing with an iPhone that I've wanted for years, I'm tempted just to drop the $699 and say screw it. If I do that, I will not be signing into anymore contracts, and see how they like that.

I agree 100%. Ill buy it at the apple store too.

So going on to verizon's page and checking my eligibility, it says that I am eligible and I'm not at the same time.

Same thing it did to me. On the apple page it says i am eligible for the promotional pricing on the iphone 299 for the 32gb. I wonder whats going on? What i dont get is on my account page it states new every two upgrade 7/20/11. If i go to upgrade phone on account page i see promo pricing for every phone, such as the droid x 199. What is the difference in the upgrades. I am eligible for my annual upgrade and can receive promo pricing just not the extra 50 bucks of the new every two right? They need to clear this **** up.

I dont get how it says not eligible and yes youre eligible all on the same page. Verizon, not a good start to the iphone era. Hahahaha.

Can't check on Verizon because my mom is the account holder and I don't know her password, but the Apple page says I'm eligible to upgrade at the 199/299 prices. Thing is I got my Incredible back in April, so it hasn't even been a year. Also, I heard that Verizon is now changing their upgrade time from 12 to 20 months, so there's no way I'm eligible.

Yes they do. They keep saying no early upgrades, but an annual upgrade is NOT an early upgrade...its an upgrade that we've rightfully earned. I think the terminology is going crazy and they need to straighten this out before everyone gets upset.

And yes, I show the Droid Incredible for the same price as a new contract...along with all the other phones as well.

Something is wrong with verizon and apples site...i hope they fix this stuff quick. I was excited for the iphone but now it seems as if once again i wont be able to get an iphone on launch unless i want to pay 699.

Looks like we are in the same boat. If verizon ever emails me back ill post it here. I sent a long email concerning the upgrade status. This was even before all this nonsense too.

I sent an email as well....they need to get their act together. What is it about the iPhone that makes companies go crazy?
