Got it! Thank you!

----------

Quick follow up...when you "reactivate" an item does it have to be reordered in the list?

I have the master list built in the order I go ( or should I say "blaze") through the store. I hate shopping.

Thank you for your time.

No worries, that's what I'm here for.

Take a deep breath, I'll probably waffle on a bit here ;)

On your iPhone, you can press edit in your list and move things into any order you like. As you check things off and later reactivate them they will all go back into the order they were.

The only time this changes is if you have some active items and some checked off items in your list. If you then add something new to the list, they are added to the "active section" of the list and don't fully take into account the checked off items.
So when you then reactivate some of your checked off items, the new ones you added actually go somewhere in the middle of the list.

So I'd recommend adding new things to the list when everything is active, which I realise is somewhat impractical.
Of course you can always go into the list on the iPhone and re-order anything that needs to be, it's really quick to do and it'll all stay that way again unless something else is added when some things are checked off and some aren't.

I can see how It could be a bit annoying but it's due to how the lists are managed behind the scenes. How items are tracked and ordered changes every time something is checked off or reactivated so that the system and iCloud don't get confused as to what's happening.

But I can see how in your scenario it would be beneficial to have everything work slightly differently and it's something I can look into optimising for a future update.

Thanks!
I used the iPhone reordering function, which works intuitively, when listing originally, since inputting builds from top. Left that way I would have to reverse my route through the store, getting frozen foods first rather than last.

Another enhancement suggestion ...

I have a suggestion for your consideration. Within a list, the "Delete List" button is very close to the last item on the list and very easy to hit in error on the watch. When this happens, there is no confirmation or way to retrieve the list (at least that I can see). The delete function might be better as a force touch to reduce the possibility of this occurring.

Great idea, and nice and easy to do. I'll change this just now before I forget.

Thanks.

Ok, I said before I'd update when I was finished the update. Well other than moving the Delete button. It's finished.

I think there's some nice new additions and changes, honestly where I get my ideas from it's astounding (he lied unconvincingly.)
Seriously though, thanks to everyone for their suggestions, here's the rundown on whats new and changed. I think there might even be one or two of my own ideas in there :D

- You can now add images to lists and items.

- There are now a few more colours to choose from.

- When adding items to lists you can now separate items with a period and Easily will split it all up for you.

- For my fellow Apple Watch users the communications between the iPhone and Apple Watch have been improved.

- You can now choose from two different Glance styles. The original one is still there, but theres an all new, more detailed alternative. (screenies below)

The lists and items on Apple Watch also show the images and colours you set for them in the iPhone app.

- When adding items to a list on Apple Watch you now have the choice of entering a single item, or the original multiple items method.

- And the delete button will be moved just shortly :D

Looks really good. I am hoping that the update fixes my display issue because it is exactly what I am looking for in a list app.

I really hope so too and I'm hoping it will, honestly, I know it's extremely annoying for people who use the app and encounter issues (sad as it may sound I do use my own apps.)
But being just little old me doing this because I ended up disabled and no bugger will give me a job and not some proper professional collection of developers or an actual, y'know, real company. But I digress, bloody medication  I get really annoyed at myself when things aren't working for people using my apps. I want, the teeny amount of people who use my apps to have a good experience.

All of which blathering along, honest it’s the meds, is a really long way to get to, I’ve made some changes to the core of the app which make it all run a bit better. And although I’ve still not been able to reproduce your exact issue, yet, I’ve made changes which I’m hoping will cure your problem.

Now when you make any changes at all on the watch they happen instantly on the iPhone as well, you can actually see it happen in real time.

The other way round, from iPhone to watch, well it’s not so simple. Due to various factors beyond my control, mainly the way in which transfers are initiated from iPhone to Apple Watch (a system which is less than ideal believe me) and the sometimes erratic nature of iCloud. I wouldn't say the changes are instant 100% of the time. In testing the changes have, for the vast majority of the time been quick from iPhone to watch. But there are just enough variables I have no control over to guarantee the speed.

Of course the easy way around this is to Force Touch the screen on Apple Watch and select Reload. This will force the watch to re-fetch the information directly from the phone, where the changes are already in place and so will be properly reflected on the watch.

Well that’s probably a really long way round of getting to a point, a fairly straightforward point at that. But I think I’ve covered everything except who shot JFK and are there really little green men? Yes, look-> :D one day I’ll read what I write, actually maybe best not :D

Sent you a PM. I actually find that the two way communication works very quickly both ways in the current version.

It does, it's just me being slightly obsessive. Like if you had the detail page open on the phone and added a note on the watch, it just wasn't instant enough at changing the text on the phone for me. I know it's hardly normal use scenario but if I can find ways to speed it up I might as well do it.

Just saw this thread.....any codes left? Thx.

They never seem to last very long. New batch.

I like the App (especially how much you can do from the Watch)... unfortunately it's not going to work out for me.

I use Reminders mainly for shared "todo" lists with my wife. We both dump things into lists and either of us can do them at any time. Groceries is obvious, but other things too like household fixups and things to pick up at the pet store.

Anyway, without a real "shared list" capability (which I understand takes a lot of infrastructure and work to implement) Easily is not going to be for me. I understand that you can "send" lists to each other... but that's not going to work (we would be doing that all day every day). We even rely on being able to add stuff to lists while we know the other person is out shopping!

Thanks for making it... and for sharing it with us though!

No worries, it's never going to suit everyone. Thanks for the honest feedback.
I have considered the possibility of "proper" shared lists and there's a better than average chance of it appearing in the not too distant future.

I just need to make it in a simple, seamless way that I'm happy with before I consider letting it see the light of day.

Ideally for me there should be next to no setup for the user and no need to even think about if a list is shared or not, beyond toggling a switch at most.

Well, that's the plan that's rattling around in the big empty space that passes for my brain anyway :D

Really liking the "Easily" app

I've been using the app for a few days now. I like the simplicity and ease of use. I have quite a few To-Do apps and many are much more complicated than what I need. This one fits the need perfectly!

Cant wait to see the pending updates you made.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. The update was submitted yesterday so hopefully you won't have to wait too long. Apple on average takes about a week to review updates but it does vary a bit.

Being the glutton for punishment I am I've already started on the next update. So far there's just one properly new thing planned for it, which I'll reveal later but I will say it's going to be of particular interest to the grocery list makers among us ;)

Sweet! tried the 2nd code and it worked!

Code Redeemed

Just redeemed 5th code in list (6W9FE4YNMEYX). Thanks so much for the App. Cant wait to try it.

Ok folks, I've finished adding what I wanted to for the next, next update. I'll announce it formally later. I've also added more images than will be in the forthcoming release.

So I'm back to working on a pet project of mine, a daft but infuriatingly addictive wee game that may never see the light of day.

Anyway, if there's anything anyone would like to see added for the update now would be the time to ask.
