I don't get it...

I downloaded it the day before it was yanked. Played it for about ten minutes and deleted it. Too hard to control and I think my best was about 11. Meh.

And the buyer can claim not as advertised. You would also not be able to list flappy birds anywhere in the ad and also not be able to charge that high price for a normal iPhone since no one would know its "special"

And as a seller, you have enough to worry about buyers claiming "Not as Advertised" and getting refunds. After all, who needs a phone OR the cash it was supposed to bring in, right??

I don't understand the reasoning behind this. What's wrong with selling the iPhones on eBay? And I'm shocked that eBay even cares – they make it very hard to report stolen items and make it very easy for people to buy your stuff without paying for it thanks to their stupid new system where you pay AFTER you buy. And now they're worried about people selling phones that aren't wiped. Geez.

Good on EBay for shutting down those auctions. Scammers.

Someone wants to buy an iPhone with Flappy Bird on it, and someone sells it to him. It's his money; if he wants to be an idiot and pay for Flappy Bird, so be it. The buyer and seller are satisfied. Where is the "scam" you're complaining about?

At least we finally know what Android users feel like when they're reading an Apple-related post on BGR or Gizmodo.

Gizmodo isn't an Android website, though. This article is relevant here as a second-page post.

What if i factory restore the phone and include an iTunes account with FappyBird purchased.

"FappyBird" XD
It's not against the rules above, but I'm pretty sure Apple doesn't want you to resell their accounts, so eBay might not allow it.

That's pretty silly. The iPhone is wiped when it's synced for the first time anyway, right? I sent my mom an iPod for her birthday with music she loves, and she connected it to her computer and *POOF* everything was wiped.

And it's not like ebay is apparently targeting *just* iPhones with Flappy Birds on it. -1 for thread title, but anyway...

Uhm. What is all the fuzz about.

If you ever bought it the app will still be available under "purchases" to download.

So. I bet apple does not allow selling your Apple ID though. Hahaha.

Of course you could sell you Apple ID. May not be "allowed", but not sure how Apple would know unless they took time to starting matching up names, etc. That could be a time consuming process.

Think this is dodgy :

ebay said:
- We have credited all associated fees except for the final value fee for your listing(s).

So, if a sale has completed EBAY will void the transaction but still charge the person as if the sale had completed?

They need this same rule about computers. Rather than computers being sold with $20K worth of pirated software.

The only thing more stupid than the game is the people creating articles about it.

what about the people reading the articles?

They need this same rule about computers. Rather than computers being sold with $20K worth of pirated software.

obviously free apps or a few dollars worth is much more urgent than as you thousands of dollars worth

Did you go into your purchased items and then "items not on my iphone/ipad"

Yes.

Then you don't really know what you are talking about.

I know exactly what I'm talking about. For example, when Apple pulled their poker app from the App Store it was also removed from my purchases. That let's me know that they have the ability to remove apps from purchases.
