Heh - I so rarely read blogs I totally missed the link to comments. Brilliant. :)

LOL! The scammer is getting everything he deserves, worldwide shame! Some of the comments are great too, it seems the scammer, Amir, is posing as others to try and save some face. :p

I'd pay 375 to humiliate somebody who ripped me off. Especially if it was so sucessful that the con-man (just barely a man @ that) was so frustrated by the humiliation that he assumed false identities, call me a pedophile, and had his UNCLE call to threaten me all b/c the con-man couldn't take the truth.

This Amir guy is lucky this isn't all happening in the USA. The up-skirt style pics alone "could" get him a year in the poke (that's w/ plea-bargain). The altered passport certainly would have been investigated (that's can be a 25 sentence, depending what you end up doing with it). Add in the baseless pedaphile accusation, which is a crime in the USA (but tough to actualy get a conviction) and the threatening phone call from the uncle...That's conspiracy to harm (or worse depending on what was said, and if it can be proved). Best of all, the guy is caught committing mail fraud, which is what started this whole deal. This brings new meaning to the phrase "compound interest."

Amir, let me introduce you to "Tiny." You'll be making his stay here @ exciting Fort Levinworth a whole lot easier. I'll just let you boys get aquainted.

That guy is a huge jerk. And he is acting like its a huge joke?

Cmon, regardless the person got burned on the specs of the machine, but this guy is proud to have basically stolen from this guy.

I think the buyer should just blackmail him or something.

This guy needs to be gagged and like beaten.

Please don't tell me that you honestly think that?

Oh god, you completely missed the point!

The guy who created the site, was conned by the guy in the photos. This is revenge.

Rich.

You'd pay £375 to humiliate someone on the internet? It's not US dollars, folks.

And I don't know how much this guy is gonna get humiliated. Even with my face and name on the net, I'm inclined to think that the internet is so big that it wouldn't bother me if I was exposed like that.

I'm sending it to everyone I know across London. The "six degrees of separation" thing will do the rest :)

Yes. sorry the keyboard didn't have a pounds sterling function. but as I said. Amir is lucky it ISN'T happening in the States.

So what are you saying? If 168,000 ppl (in less than 1 month) went to a website that exposed (w/ photos) your internet porn collection (w/ interesting fetishes), the fact that you had committed mail fraud, illegally tampered with your passport, and showed that you ride "the tube" taking obscene photos of women, you wouldn't be humiliated? B/c if that's true, best get your straight jacket on, b/c you are a sociopath. And I don't think you are @ all. I just think you're drastically under-estimating the value of public embarassment and over inflating the value of $600. You can always EARN more money, but you can never earn back your integrity; it's a 1 shot deal.

168000 people in the world have seen that site, and most of them will forget his face in the matter of a second, and would never recognize his face if they saw him walking down the street, even if they remembered that website.

And I didn't say I wouldn't care. I would. I just wouldn't get too flustered about it. I would still go to buy groceries, get petrol, go to the cinema and watch a movie, etc.... I'd feel like a jerk, but I don't feel it would be effective in the way you're describing it ---- as a way to publicly embarrass someone. There's a lot of people in the world who will forget Amir's face (and maybe even his name), but remember the text on the website. There's also a lot of people in the world, period.

Ah, that may be true, but the people that know him will see it and know about his pervy habits, and they'll also know that his pervy habits have been seen by 168000 people. :)

That point I concede. But part of what makes something humiliating is the fact that ppl WITNESS it. 168,000 readers and 485 posts in a month is a lot of witnesses. Most local newspapers can't come close to that. People who post stuff also tell others about the story. Not to mention it bothered Amir so much he faked an ID to respond to the site, AND GOT CAUGHT! That's pretty strong proof of the effectiveness of the technique...on Amir.

I accept that you THINK it wouldn't bother you that much. I just don't think you're really putting yourself in Amir's shoes (so to speak). Likely, I suspect you probably don't have much to be humiliated about...are you anywhere close to being the kind of person who commits mail fraud, doctors a passport, has an older relative threaten the ppl whom you've ripped off, writes up lies about ppl you've ripped off being child molesters, and takes perverted photos of women on the train with your camera-phone and keeps those pics on your computer? I just don't see you as being anything like this Amir. I certainly HOPE you're not.

But even if it wouldn't bother you "that much," you definately left out the "that much" part in your first post. But as I said, it worked enough for Amir to fake an identity, call the guy a pedaphile, and have his uncle threaten the blog creator. So I don't understand how you can make an arguement that you don't think Amir would be that humiliated. He is totally embarassed, the enormous tantrum he's throwing is the proof.

Sure, almost everybody will forget his face, but humiliation isn't permanant. Except maybe for Bill Buckner. And I doubt most ppl could pick him out of line-up.

This was brilliant, but I would be worried if I were the buyer. I'd be looking over my shoulder all the time, in case this guy or someone he's hired, came after me.

The real Amir Massoud Tofangsazan may have problems down the road. At least here in the US there are employers and schools that regularly Google a prospective applicant to see just what sort of person they truly are.

Hope that the real Amir Massoud Tofangsazan is barely able to get a job at Boots now. :)

Ah yes, but people who know him probably already know he's a scumbag. So for those who see that site and know Amir, it may not be news to them.....just a good laugh. ;)

But I think you'd be right about me being embarrassed if the hits got to around 5 million. I'd say it means that around 4 million different viewers have seen that site. At that point, I'd be afraid that people would recognise my name.

Oh, and I've emailed Amir, and I got a response. :D

After the blog gets a million hits it will be time to readvertise the laptop with original HD on ebay. Should be worth a few grand by then.

Yeah excellent idea!

Some eBay big-shot like GoldenPalace.com will pay big for it, and place it in their museum of internet oddities. :)

My first post here and hello to all, so I thought I'd voice my opinion on the Iranian conman/boy.
Amir is Iranian, and believe me, in their culture saving face is paramount. I work with an Iranian lad and they are quite a close nit community, something like this will whip round like wild fire.I find his childish attempts at posting under pseudynoms extremely amusing though. I hope the wee git gets everything that's coming to him, swindeling little toerag.
