The real Amir Massoud Tofangsazan may have problems down the road. At least here in the US there are employers and schools that regularly Google a prospective applicant to see just what sort of person they truly are.

Hope that the real Amir Massoud Tofangsazan is barely able to get a job at Boots now. :)

My thoughts exactly. This made collegehumor.com about a week ago and made me really happy. Hope he can never get a real job now.

That is the best revenge, laptopguy is going to make a fortune selling that laptop  That Amir guy is suspicious though, I'm glad he is being checked by the police.

Read the article. The blog is being called a "hate site" and it's laptop guy they're investigating.

However Laptop guy has been careful to remove any racist comments and has in fact kept it fairly moderated. All that has happened is that Amir has made even more people aware of the blog.

This guy will *have* to change his name. If I were an employer I would always google the persons name. I google everybody's name just to see if they've got an internet presence or whatever.

Both of them.

Amir was wrong in the first place.

The Laptopguy went over the top on exposing him.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

I dont think Laptopguy did anything wrong. He got revenge on his scammer which is what any other sane person would do. He just did it in a humerous, creative way.

assuming that what laptopguy is saying is true...

I can't imagine how else he got all those photos unless Amir is some poor sap in laptopguy's high school who gets picked on a lot, or laptopguy swiped Amir's laptop and fabricated the whole thing for fun.

I'm honestly inclined to believe that laptopguy is telling the truth, though I'm open to persuasion if more details come to light.

Well that ought to provide accurate information:rolleyes:

Googling for names is only remotely accurate if the person has a very uncommon name. Otherwise, they get swamped by the thousands others around the world who share the same name.

Even though I've always thought of my name as rather rare, I googled it, and it ended up being the name of a fairly big financial analysis firm. I had to refine my search drastically and dig through pages of sites before finding even one verbatim reference to me, and even those sites were just ranking sites for chess tournaments and physics competitions, haha :p  No dirt on me whatsoever, even though I robbed a bank last year...shhhhh!

I am not faulting the laptopguy for his little revenge.

He just posted more detail than he should which is why I said that it is over the top.

Definitely a popular site. It will be interesting to see how this all works out.

i fell sorry for Amir......no i don't!:p he's an idiot and a scammer:D

i feel a bit sorry for the other people on the pics. there was no reason to drag their pictures into this affair. their privacy is clearly violated by posting their pics without consent in this context. that's where laptopguy went over the line.:(

I looked at the comments section ... there's some interesting points brought up as to how he accessed the HD ... and someone posted a link as to one of the pics posted (of two girls) being available online already.

Interesting read nevertheless.

is this justified? if i sue a newspaper for posting a picture of me during a rock concert and they did not try to find out who i am, i am legally able to sue them for not asking for my permission?

No because newspapers have the right to portray what has happened or something.

Newpapers fall within different legal stuff when it comes to pictures....

when you are not a person of outstanding importance, or when the picture was not taken in a newsworthy context or when you are not part of a crowd then they are not allowed to print your picture. at least in some countries.

taken a private picture from a private HD is clearly against the law (in some countries). anyway it's at least unfair to drag people into this and post their pic in an embarrassing context. they didn't scam the buyer.

After the blog gets a million hits it will be time to readvertise the laptop with original HD on ebay. Should be worth a few grand by then.

Because of the popularity of this, I think if he sold the laptop on ebay, he could command many thousands of dollars, maby even tens of thousands for it. Golden Palace would probably buy it.

I was reading yesterday about the New Zealand rugby captain who grabbed someones handbag to hit another patron in a bar. The handbag and broken mobile mobile in it were recently sold for $20,000 and the bar has just sold the b/w security video for $5000
