I'd love to see Apple TV+ sold to the highest bidder. It's too much of a shiny distraction that has almost no relevance to the rest of their business. Turn off the TV and get back to work, Apple!

Apple Arcade sucks.

I subscribe to News+. When magazines load the red progress bar at the bottom is too thin.

iCloud backup is good. When I do the yearly upgrade to a new iPhone Pro Max it automatically installs everything like a pro.

Apple TV+ is good. Many good shows.

So based on these numbers, Apple has taken $137 billion dollars in commission, which means their App Store has averaged them almost $28 million dollars per day since the beginning. Over the last year, Apple took over $70 million dollars per day.

Apple today highlighted the success of its services in 2022, including the App Store, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple TV+, Apple Fitness+, Apple News+, Apple Maps, Apple Pay, Apple Card, Apple Podcasts, iCloud, and others.
Speaking of more to come, where is the Classical Music app? How about fixing the issues with Apple TV+ app on multiple OS’s such as the library tab that stops showing large collections of digital content? Then we have Apple Music and its interface that makes it’s hard to find specific content for some genres of music that they deem are less important?

Apple's services could be really great, but they are executed poorly. Look no further than the user experience with Apple Music. Spatial Audio and Lossless (I still don't know what Lossless is) feels gimmicky. There's just so much more basic things Apple can do to make AM better.

JFC. I realize a press release is not the venue for self-awareness (as someone who has worked in PR in the past, I can summarize it as the planet where subtlety goes to die), but what a self-congratulatory fusillade of unicorn vomit. Apple's unrelenting, borderline desperate need to publicly celebrate itself is, to me, the apex of obnoxious. Yes yes yes, Eddy. You're doing the Lord's work and we're all very proud of you. Now shut up and get back at it.

Isn't this same guy in charge of Siri still? This is the pinnacle of irony patting himself on the back for winning entertainment awards while Siri is basically wasting away in a basement somewhere.

Kind of like when Cook would say Apple products are "enriching lives" every chance he got, like they came up with the cure for cancer or something. That always kind of rubbed me the wrong way.

Does anybody use Apple Maps when Google Maps is just better? Last time I tried the Apple Map app, it had that design flaw where it kept rotating the actual map when you try to zoom in. That was a design disaster IMO.

Thanks, guy whose mouth is just a narrow slit in the skin on the front of his head! Now, go back to sleep.

Some services like the student Music with free TV+ and cheap iCloud are a great, while others like Fitness+, News+ are overpriced and hit or miss. And then there's the pointless garbage that is Arcade and a still horrible Maps app.

I’ll sheepishly raise my hand, mainly because my wife and I share a calendar that has a lot of events with addresses for our kids’ activities. When I click the address it opens Maps, and in our urban existence it usually gives me just as accurate of a travel time guesstimate as Google Maps. I don’t believe there’s a way to change the default map app on iOS…

If we’re taking a road trip, Google Maps all the way though.

Yes because Siri kinda works with Apple Maps. I can’t make Google maps the default.

Lots of services. Uneven quality. Mediocre TV content; mediocre fitness design, variety and direction; small selection of games; mediocre music app. Overpriced services in general. Should be 50% cheaper or even free with a hardware purchase every year!

A few improvements I'd love to see made to Apple's services:
  • More (and more broadly appealing) shows and movies on AppleTV+. I'd love to be able to cancel some of our many streaming services but I don't think AppleTV+ has nearly enough yet.
  • Bigger/deeper games on Apple Arcade, along with greater variety. Imagine if things like SimCity, Civilization, or even modern AAA games were included. Maybe even some Apple first person titles that you couldn't get on other platforms.
  • The Apple Books version of Kindle Unlimited, where an ever-growing library of "free" books are included as part of the subscription. Any dads who read to their kids each night can vouch to the expense of paying $5-$10 for picture books.
  • Improvements to the Podcasts Mac App (like launching a mini-player when you click the album artwork for consistent behaviour with Music App). I guess that's software rather than a service but... Podcasts *kinda* is both.
  • More iCloud storage included

Agreed. Apple Arcade is fairly awful.

After I did a Look Up on “fusillade” I had a great image in my head of those unicorns 🤪

I feel like every time I open my Library I startled the sleeping Apple TV and it‘s shocked that it has to go fetch the icon for each purchase. I get a screen of pretty grey rectangles. Oooo aaaah.
Well, it’s not like it’s been happening for years…oh, yes it is.
Sorry if I got sarcasm on anyone.
