I think they should have a slider that lets you choose. I don't get the pre-defined limitations.

I liked it, but will acknowledge tastes vary. I actually do like ATV+ and will return to it one day. However, I'm rotating streaming services, and will only have one major one at a time (time is the bottleneck these days), so that time may likely be in 2024, at the earliest.

I agree. I don't understand the purpose of TV+. It seems like a vanity project, nothing more. If the content were exclusive to Apple devices, that I could I understand. But since it's available everywhere, what's the point? It can't possibly be profitable. If it's not helping to drive hardware sales, I'm left with no other conclusion than it's someone's vanity/ego project.

So, I discovered an app, song, TV show, game, or movie in 2022. And that makes an entire calendar year "groundbreaking?" I literally used to do the same thing in 1995.

The *only* absolutely fantastic assistant is Google, but the reason it’s the best is… well… because it’s google.
Siri at least can do the basic tasks like setting timers, turning on lights, and viewing cameras.
75% of the time you ask Alexa to do one of those things, you’re met with an ad.
“Sure, I’ll set your five minute timer. By the way, Amazon is currently having a sale on analog timers. Would you like me to buy you a pack of 50 timers for $99.99?”
“Sure, i’ll turn off the light. By the way you can buy a pack of Alexa supported bulbs right now for the low price of $49.99! Want me to order?”

I was surprised Apple music on PS5 is actually...pretty great. Because most the time it just is not good on non apple platforms.
I agree that Amazon has ruined Alexa with ads. However, when I say something to Alexa it understands me and does what I ask.
Siri, on all platforms but especially the homepod mini ironically, frequently wildly misinterprets what I said. I can say the same phrase "lights on" and usually it gets it but about 20% of the time will start trying to play music. Siri's response to everything unless it's absolutely certain you said something else is to play music.
Yeah, timers it *usually* nails but again every so often I will say "set a one hour timer named casserole" or something like that. I can see in the text feedback it heard me correctly, yet it still says "ok, a timer for how long?"
It's just broken and Eddy Cue bragging about entertainment awards which everyone knows can essentially be purchased is just absolutely tone deaf when the thing he's supposed to be in charge of is such a dumpster fire.
You may already know this, but one thing to note is that if you really need it, you can do the Apple On Premier plan and then add 2 TB storage to it and that would give 4TB. It would be nice though to just double all the levels at the same price point to avoid that.

What are you talking about? They have gone to great lengths to keep those evil emulators out of the AppStore.😏 You can't play your old DOS/SNES/Game Boy/PSP games on your iPhone.🥺 Sure a few hundred scam apps make it pass the filter, but hey, at least the keep those emulators out. Right?🙃
I wonder what there total server space is for ICloud. Since you can start One and regular to 4TB, I'm guessing they have at lease usersx4TB. Or are they like banks with some % that they expect to be requested?
Lately even if she does do something, it's delayed. Or she says huh and then still does it. It's the same with Google Next like Alexa. It does stuff near perfectly. It just seems to have trouble understand Ts unless I really enunciate. Maybe it just has to learn since sometimes it confirms what I said.
Oh good question. I always wondered if they had their own servers or used Amazon or others.

Apple's services are so lacking and overpriced it's almost criminal. I haven't used the AppStore in years because of how much crap is on there. The only service I use is iCloud storage but that's because I can't configure another cloud service to work with Photos so I'm stuck paying $5 per month for 200GB. It's disgusting.

How can you fairly judge something that you "haven't used in years"?
Photo Libraries can be located anywhere. Just hold down the Option key when opening the app. If you choose a cloud service that lets you save files "offline", then those files won't consume any space on your drive until you try to access those files. I haven't tried that with the Photos library, but it should work. Dropbox is one example of such a service.
The point of cloud storage, specifically iCloud, is to have access to your media across Apple devices, so if you choose another cloud provider, how will that work? Set up each device to access the same cloud service?
There are two pieces — (a) photo app, (b) cloud service. You want to change cloud services, so how about changing the app to one that does support multiple cloud services? "PhotoFiler" is an app that seems to support what you need.
