I admit the iphone innovation as been a little stale over the last 2 years or so.

Innovation:

1. something newly introduced, such as a new method or device
2. the act of innovating

The Fingerprint sensor implementation in the iPhone 5S is indeed innovation so it's not fair to say the iphone innovation is not there.

I think what you are trying to communicate is more in the lines of "Apple hasn't done anything new and exciting with the iPhone lately".

I am sure Steve had some input on a Bears acquisition. He knew ivone for awhile and I'm sure had discussed a bit of this with him.

If Steve jobs was in fact such a great person with SOOO much insight as you guys say then I am very sure he had an outline of these past 3 years written down and past on to someone at apple

Ha. Ha.

Like I said, wait until Monday. I hope you like the taste of your own words. :p

Please re-read the article. Cue's exact comment about SJ (when asked about it, this wasn't unprompted), was:

"Look, Steve was a great friend, a great mentor, I miss him, you can't say it doesn't mean anything from that standpoint; but when I look at what he set up at Apple and what we're doing, I think he'd be extremely proud of the all the work we're doing today and the products we're building, and I think we're continuing a lot of the legacy he built."

Important words are in bold. Slightly misleading headline from MacRumours, admittedly, but he was very humble and careful with what he said.

I personally don't think they were terrible for saying they think SJ would be proud :|

If I were them I'd hope that what I'm doing would make Steve Jobs proud as he is a huge deal in the technology space.

But that's just me.

You realize software needs hardware........

Well..... If they release a new version of iOS or OSX, do you think it will work on one year old 5s or rMBP.

The secret is in the title , it's a developer conference , centred around software, where they should announce some new hardware. 100% certain though they will announce new software.....for the software developer ;)

Apple execs are so clever, dropping the name...Steve Jobs is magical and will most certainly work to Eddie's advantage. WWDC will be a magical moment sure to inspire Apple devotees world wide.

iOS 7 was clearly not about attention to detail and quality. In fact, it was about removing detail, which reduced quality... as did the crashing.

He didn't drop the name out of the blue, Walt clearly mentioned Steve in the question that was being asked.

"...the best product pipeline in 25 years coming later this year"

...hmm... sounds to me like a message of "not much to be announced at WWDC but have faith, there is a lot coming later in the year".

not so bad ? but didn't Tim Cook talk last year about the fantastic pipeline of products ... maybe these were just delayed.

Eddy was not very convincing last night. He said Apple has been thinking about streaming music for a long time. Well, what's taken him so long to get a decent Spotify competitor on the market. Cue has basically been running iTunes since it's inception. How is he so behind on streaming music? I think it reflects poorly on his leadership that Apple had to spend $3B to get somebody to kickstart their streaming music business.

True. But you have to consider the following: Streaming ruins the traditional iTunes model. And that was a cash cow and accelerator for Apple and its products for quite some time. So I can understand why it took some time. Did it take too long? Probably yes.

But still, now they finally started, they aren't driving with full speed. iTunes Radio is nowhere available outside the U.S. and Canada. I know Europe always is far behind. iTunes Movies in the Cloud just arrived one month ago. That's not acceptable - despite hard negotiations with right-holders...

And with Apple TV the best Cue could do is praise the CEO of Comcrap. I hope he was holding some things close to the vest because if he wasn't I don't expect much Chang to Apple TV at all. :(

Yes, they obviously didn't crack it as quoted by Isaacson. They just have to open up Apple TV's iOS to natively run apps and most people will be happy. I just don't get what takes them so long. Sales and stocks will go up, as a result Apple will get some time breath again.

Countries like India are poor, so they try to put their best product at even good price. SO yes 8Gb is small for nowadays but for that kind of people who sacrifice a lot just to take hands of an apple product i think they are happier than us
Yes because in India, people cant afford more than 8gb of data hence this version of iphone ;)

Touch ID has been a huge feature on my iPhone. I use it 50 times a day, and it makes my experience twice as good as on my iPhone 5. Is that not innovation?

I guess when they set the bar as high as they did with the first few launches people like me get spoiled. I have touch ID and while its cool its not a reason to go buy a new phone like some of the other models had.

Steve would hate Dre's music and everything he stands for and those crappy beats headphones.

And he would ask Dre for $3 Billion just to take those trash-like beats cans to the trash can.

Serious, I was quite excited when Cue said that will be the best product lineups in 25 years until I remembered that in the same interview he said beats had great products.:(

Cue also said that back then the time wasn't right for the beats acquisition, maybe it's because back then Jobs was around.

Yea right on the dot but I assume this iphone 6 is going to change that so ive got my fingers crossed.

How about you fix iTunes before moving on to the TV set Mr Cue. You should be ashamed of it right now, full of holes and bugs. The search facility is the worst I've ever seen to the point were it takes ages to find what you're looking for. It really is a shambles. No wonder so many people are moving away. If you don't make some BIG improvements in v12 this year I'll moving away to.

I feel like we have an amazing executive team...

Maybe it's just because I haven't lived on the Left Coast in a long while, but Apple executives sound like Valley Girls to me.

Everything's like, so amazing. Magical. Unbelievable. Incredible. Best ever. Awesome. Thinnest. The phrases have become so hackneyed and predictable, tech websites make Apple Keynote Bingo cards with them.

All the Apple execs also seem to wear the same older men I-wanna-be-cool uniform with jeans and untucked shirts. Not much individuality.

Except Ive doesn't seem to wear jeans anymore. His uniform now is expensive t-shirts with baggy khaki trousers. :D

Oh Eddie

I'm afraid Eddie that without Steve, Apple has been out of the news and products slow to market. By the time you release them, the competition has already released a similar product and is moving on to the next Big Thing. You have become very lax and need another Steve Jobs type to whip some butt.

Ha! You're right. He's being an artist and bucking the executive trend.

Have to say, Ive has come a long way from his early Apple days:

Mind you, we probably all have clothing & hair decades we wish we could forget
