no p:cool:, I would like to argue firefox users like to customize more than safari, ie, and opera, but thats another topic belongs to "application" board.
Yeah, a separate thread in a different forum would probably be best for that, huh? And I'm sure you have some studies that support your claim, right? :)

I've got a commercial in my head that goes something like this:
MBA $2000. eee $400. eee Handicaps $2,800. That response from Clevin.
Priceless.

There are some things that money can't buy...

indeed, there is something money can't buy, like numerous ignorant personal insults from some zealots who doesn't know anything else other than name calling.

surprisingly, I don't, but I would sure do some dig before I start that threat, and I would welcome evidence even if it proves me wrong.

EDIT:
All this MB Air talk got me looking around at (ultra)portables/tablet pcs and I came across this HP one on Amazon. Has anyone seen or used one of those before? I'm really not in the market but that one seemed nice.
I've played around with one of these. I actually like it a lot and was considering getting one.

One big concern is the hinge/swivel over time. As with many tablet PCs, they have a similar mechanism which doesn't seem that durable to me.

But other than that, I like the HP.

are these capable of running OS-X?
Since we are on a Mac Rumors board, I would say this is a significant point! :p

Hey let me make some stuff clear about my intentions.

I bought the EEE for its cheap ultra portability. If i wanted a 400 dollar vostro i could have but alredy own 2 laptops so i got what i wanted.

I happen to type very lightly and use only three fingers so typing on the eee is great for me.

I cant afford a MBA nor do i want one. I do want a MBP and am waiting for the Penryn but untill i get that i play around with this thing. I bring it to school and have fun with it playing games i installed and i type nots on it in microsoft word. I actually typed some homework earlier. now i did say "now i can do everything a MBA can do short of a few things" the few things being 5 hour batterly life, and big screen, and like what 1700 dollars buys u, u know what i mean? i guesss i exaggerated its comparison but its a fun little distraction. And its dam small.

I had 4000 to spend on a computer of my choice. I spend 500 on the EEE, The reason i dident buy a macbook was becasue i knew i was gogin to buy a MBP too, 2500+1300=3800 but insdead im going 500+reddic tricked out MBP (2500+) so i think haivng two macbooks would be redundent so i went with an eee.

Hope keeps the fire down lol

What, Zealots? :p

Interesting question, that's a nice little project for the OSX86/hackintosh crowd. I can't see why Tiger couldn't at least... it's questionable whether Rosetta would work as Celerons don't have SSE3 (though I think they hacked it to work on just SSE2 at least in older builds?) but hey, who needs Rosetta nowadays anyway.

... actually, enough analysis, I just Googled it and the answer is yes (illegally mind you), you can even run Leopard on it :) I was right about the lack of SSE3 being a problem but it's hackable.

I expect it's quite slow.

I thought I wouldn't like it but when I played around with the new EEE PC with the 9 inch screen it's actually pretty cool. Very tempting instead of purchasing a macbook air, as it would only be used to browse the net.

Some of the other upcoming 'netbooks' are even better with intel Atom 1.6ghz processor and 1.5gb RAM, such as the acer aspire one and the dell mini laptop coming out.
