but it is gone, newer phones don’t have the 3D touch hardware if I remember correctly, and now they’re basically bypassing it on phones that have the 3D touch hardware.

Yes, as I described, there is functionality to give you similar/same results (long press) but in my view it’s no longer technically 3D touch.

saying it’s not gone is like saying the headphone jack isn’t gone in new phones just because you can still plug wired headphones into the lightning port or use wireless headphones. Those may be acceptable or even better options to the headphone jack, and certainly give you the same functionality, but the port is still technically gone.
It's still 3D Touch as you invoke it by a hard(er) press, not by just touching for a longer period of time (which is Haptic Touch). There are 3D Touch features that are still there just like before, and various ones that can't be and aren't done with Haptic Touch, like using 3D Touch on notification, or using 3D Touch anywhere on the keyboard to bring up the trackpad functionality, or devices that have a home button, using 3D Touch on the left edge of the screen to go the last app or bring up the app switcher.

Ummmm..... you realize there were like a dozen betas, yeah?
Lol, what exactly is buggy & not ready for release? I mean.... I’m sure you have a full list, from the 2 hours you’ve been using it?

Wired, Wall Street journey, et al are saying to wait. Has nothing to do with my experience. Do a quick google search, and you’ll see it’s not my opinion.

Cut, Copy, and Paste[/B] - Pinch up with three fingers to copy, pinch up with fingers two times to cut, and pinch down with three fingers to paste.
I think pinch "up" and pinch "down" is confusing. Pinch means you contract your fingers together or spread them apart (this isn't really a "pinch" either but...). I think "pinch in" and "pinch out" might be more clear. "Up" and "down" kind of sounds like you need to move your fingers up or down on the screen.

Finally enabled a fast way to scroll to bottom. 3rd party apps had this for years. That was one of the reasons I like the "document" app.
Sadly a feature released that is years late.

basically it’s disabled all together
you now just place and hold your finger for a “long press” to do the same functionality.

you press long now instead of press hard.
So they did take a feature away from my phone. That sucks.

The main problem I have with Apple is they still have the “it just works” attitude that someone can pick up an iPhone and start using it.

While that’s true for the basics, there are so many new featuresApple should really create a comprehensive guide for iOS.
There was a guide available for free in Apple Books app back in iOS 7 era or earlier. Multilingual versions are available as well. Not sure if they have the same thing for iOS 13 nowadays.
Um, or maybe the guide is for device, not for iOS.

I’ve noticed text entry boxes that cover on screen buttons. How do I make this go away?

This is quite a change from the one button mouse.

I don't get this... "Pinch up"?? How do you pinch UP? And pinch down....
Does the old way of selecting text and choosing cut/copy/paste etc still exist?

These have been available free for IOS versions in the Books app for some time. Apple’s IOS 13 guide is 467 pages, hopefully comprehensive enough lol. 😀

I've got that ebook. I find it limiting in many areas. The first thing I went to was Shortcuts. It was a single paragraph with a link to a webpage that gave more detailed information. But even that webpage is lacking. It's just static content with a few pictures and icons.

To really show people what shortcuts can do requires, IMO, a detailed instructional video with animations that convey what's actually going on with your device behind the scenes when you use various sample shortcuts. I think a lot of people get turned off by Shortcuts because it seems like too much work to get going or they don't fully understand just what it's capable of. And now with Automations in Shortcuts it becomes even more useful (and complex).

For #6, can you remove it from the drawer, same as you can remove the other useless things that populate there? Removing the drawer would be still better, of course. When I inevitably trigger it by fat-fingering the camera button, I don't want to see anything there.

I hope for this as well. It was regularly in the way while using the beta versions. Me/animojis are not things I care about.

If I try to back up my iPhone x to iCloud a pop up states that iTunes will no longer automatically sink with my phone. I like to backup to both iCloud and iTunes. How do I resolved this issue?

It might be more described as having us transition to the new way of doing things ;) with how they do it on the newer phones using haptic touch.

you can get to the same features just slightly differently I guess. Just taking a little getting used to.

Location controls for Shared Images

That's a new one.
Can you please tell me where you found that setting and what precisely it does? I couldn’t find it even searching the settings and looking in Photos and Location Services. The article mentioned it but didn’t say how to enable it and the video completely skipped over that setting. I’m hoping it auto strips GPS data when sharing photos online. Thanks.
