Electronica Artist Owl City/Adam Young Designed iOS 7 Sounds [Updated]

Electronica artist Adam Young, the musician behind the popular project Owl City, is responsible for many of the new sound and ringtones in iOS 7 according to the discography on the musician's website (via 9to5Mac).

Update: The reference to Apple's iOS 7 sounds has been removed from Young's discography page.

Good find! I was always surprised that with Steve Jobs's aesthetic taste that the notification sounds were so bad on iOS (and the Mac for that matter). The iOS 7 sounds are MUCH improved.

Agreed! Nothing worse than a phone ringing loudly in the office, on an elevator or at a restaurant.

The thing about these sounds is that they shouldn't draw too much attention to themselves.

I hate Owl City so bad. That guy doesn't have an ounce of talent in my opinion. (Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's successful and lots of people like him) but I personally can't stand his autotuned garbage.

I've never been a big fan of default ringtones. I either create my own or use samples from music I like.

Day Man from Always Sunny is my fav to this day.

Seriously though, some do seem less "quality" compared to iOS 6 and earlier, almost "Arcade" in tone.

"Aurora" seems almost a cut from the track "Fireflies".

I have always been a fan of Adams work. I also was a fan of the new ringtones in iOS 7, and thought that they could hold their own as a song. That explains it.

"By The Seaside" is awful, "Playtime" even worse. It's good that most are shorter than the far too long iOS 6 sounds, but some aren't short and sound like an Atari game. The Alert Tones are good, the Ringtones, not so much.
