Looks like the store is open again. No need for a code, you just have to get to the store via another product, like a 3GS case, and then you can click over and order a Vapor.

007 are sold out. Everything else is available.

Be warned though. If you're buying to try and flip to make a profit, that ship has sailed. I barely broke even after ebay fees on my AR-15.

Finally my order got shipped! :) Hopefully it will be across the Pacific (and into my hands) by Monday.

just search for 'aluminum iphone case" on ebay and you will see them. There is a few different people from hong kong and tiawan selling them.

There is also an "ironman edition" , which is gold and red.
Under the regular search for element vapor case, you will see a seller called pootoshop selling chinese knockoffs.

Thanks for the info. I see alot of different ones. One guy even sell it for $100:eek:.Are they crazy!

i saw in an earlier post (that i cant find) of a carbon fiber back thats cheaper and looks better than element's.. what is it?? :(

Guys - I own two vapors - I like them a lot but the Atomic Hybrid case made of alum and delrin looks exact and gets way better signal. Look into it. I'll own nothing else.

Element Vapor Case

The 2 cases ordered just arrived @ my mailbox, 007 and frost/ graphite. Decided to keep my 007 and sell off my frost/ graphite w cb at listed price based on element case website.

Anyone interested can drop me a PM.

Thanks.

6 years, 8 months, 3 weeks, 2 days, 007 seconds. Then once you recieve it, if you receive it, call drops in 007 milliseconds.
Funny but true. Damn they look good but perform terrible. So if you like carrying a IPod, this is the case for you!!

Aren't we overstating things just a little. I also have an Ipod, not even similar.
Not not really!! When your phone becomes almost completely useless and your gps stops working and you 3G wont work anymore, you then have a IPod. So no, I wasn't overstating things, there are 105 pages saying the same thing.

Funny I've been using mine for 4-5 months never a dropped call never seen less than 2 bars no matter where I am, good GPS, fast speeds. I can't do that on my Ipod. You know very well there are thousands out there using these cases and are happy.

We are rehashing old stuff. I've followed you're posts. I remember when you turned totally against Element and have since then, trashed them as much as you can. I see where you're coming from but you've overstated it. Element made tons of mistakes, I'll grant you that.

i dont understand. are you guys mad at the fact that you can't get the case or something? lol it seems like you guys have a lot of pent up hostility towards this case. You take the complaints of several members in this thread, then turn them into hysterical truths. When littered throughout the thread are posts that clearly state people have NO problems with this case on their phone and how much they adore it. Why do you guys love to point out the flaws, but reject all things positive lmao

then the fact of the matter is a complaining customer is more likely to rant about a purchase, then a satisfied customer is to praise.

lol don't be so salty fellas. ;)

I have the nickel case.

A quick review

Fit:excellent
Finish: exceptional
Attractivness: 120%
effect on service: marginally noticable (mostly in very low service areas, but texting gps, and calling all work fine). Wireless works flawlessly.

The nickel has tarnished very very slightly, but oddly enough makes the case more attractive. Of course the case only works with apple accessories, but I knew that months ago and replaced all my accessories.

Overall satisfaction. 95%. The reception issues don't pose a problem, but are an annoyance occasionally. Lol only when it makes facebook a little slower.

To give an idea of how it usually works. I was in a 3 bar area in a concrete hospital, and downloaded a movie on email (5.9 mb's) in 20 seconds.

What Nickel case do you have? the first one or the Satin Nickel one?

Mine's arriving in the mail anytime today, now... CAN'T WAIT!! Haha

-----------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: Just got mine a few minutes before lunch time! FINALLY!!! :D

I agree with BlackedBobby that it does somewhat affect the signal... but only marginally. No problems with my phone even with it on.
Glad the ordeal is over after 9 weeks. :)

Frost Blood Red is gorgeous! :)

My iPhone 4 x Satin Nickel with the Teksure wrap (white) from Lucky Labs. It looks kinda good with it having a matte feel to it. Sort of similar finish as the Stainless Steel antenna band of the iPhone 4 itself.

A picture of both just for good measure (sorry for the blurred photo). Haha

Looking back, this Satin version of the Nickel case looks more elegant compared to the old one, IMO.

I ordered on November 18, paid the $10 for priority shipping and received it this morning. I didn't use any code nonsense or anything else. Just went right to the shop page and ordered it.

With so many knockoffs for sale on Ebay, the pre order stuff will come to an end with Elementcase.

Most here already bought cases and sold them all due to signal issues.
I kept mine for a week and was happy with it because it only marginally affected the signal. Then one day my wife did not receive texts from me where she works due to poor signal. After that I was at the dentist and my phone went into searching mode. And I was there plenty of times before and got 1-2 bars of signal.
That was all I needed to sell them all.

But they sure do look nice. Ordered an Atomic Hybrid yesterday. Hope I have better luck with that one.

does anyone know how to re-finish the case? my 007 is getting a bit scractched up and id like to re-buff or refinsh it. thanks!

refinishing is very difficult if you ask me. If you remove the existing finish you are removing the anodizing. The aluminum left may not look very good. I've done this with success at times by buffing with progressively finer steel wool followed up with a good metal polish. An electric buffer on a power drill does the best. It produces a finish that is mirror like, almost like chrome. This is all dependent on the quality of the aluminum.

Try at your own risk.

The 007 case is not anodized, it is a raw aluminum, that is finished by hand with sandpaper and Scotchbrite.

If there are deep scratches in the metal, they can be sanded down with sandpaper (I'd go with 400 or 600 grit). Once the scratches are out, hit it with 1,000 grit. Then finish with Scotchbrite. You should do the entire case to make sure everything flows and matches.

The key is to sand in a straight line, so your finish stays uniform.

What happens if you do the same to the silver/silver that's anodized? Will it produce a good result ie a nice finish?

Eventually, but it might take a lot of sanding to get through the anodized finish (which is very durable).

You can actually remove the anodized coating with a number of checmicals that are readily available, I have never done it though. You could take it as far as removing the coating, then sanding to a smooth finish, then buffing to a mirror (chrome-like) shine, which might look kind of cool too.

When my silver / silver gets beat up I'm going to expirement, but I'm going on 3 months and it still looks brand new.

Does anyone know if the red cap from the Frost / Blood Red is the same as the regular Black / Red ?? I can't tell from the photo's / reviews !!
