Agreed, I mean an iPhone itself will cost you 199 (subsidized price) why would I want to buy a case that cost nearly the same as the phone itself.

that would be seriously upping an already expensive ass case. But on that note whats that metal that NEVER scratches that they make rings out of. It would be cool to conjure a case with that.
I'm as much of a case whore as most of you here but $149 for a Vapor?
I just can't do it. I thought my M-Tech was pricey but at least I feel its worth it.
Element has such a crummy rep for service and product I'm not willing to lay out any more cash to them.

I am sorry but after shipping that case is 160 bucks!! That is almost as much as I paid for my phone itself. And to be honest? Brown? Your first pro case is Brown? I am glad they changed their look but the color is ugly and the price is just unrealistic in my opinion. Brown? Why not come cool color to start off with? Oh well I guess, I guess no matter what color it is, its still not worth 160 bucks.
This is one of the first things I actually agree with you on! Lol. There's no way this case is worth the price. But for some reason, I've got a feeling that they'll sell quite a few of them, just because they are "Element" cases. Afterall, there was no shortage of people willing to pay $250 plus on eBay for the first Vapor (I sold mine for $200 shipped within 15 minutes of listing). Element will just list them as "limited edition" (like they are already doing), and they'll sell, unfortunately.
Well, I bit the bullet for everyone. Ordered it this morning when I got to work. Will update whenever they get around to sending it out. Element does take forever to ship. A tweet they sent out said 3-4 business days but I highloy doubt this will hit some type of postal establishment before next week.
Not to be pesimistic, but that is their track record. Never had an issue with their customer service but most of the people that had issues were those who ordered more than 2 cases at a time. The couple people who complained were bragging about the 8-10 cases (I'm not digging up the posts, they are in the thread somewhere) they ordered but were angry sue to their delay in shipping. The the ones I bought on eBay, I flipped for more than double the price a few weeks later. The 2 I ultimately ordered directly from Element arrived at my house about 2 weeks after I ordered so it was on par with their estimate.
Anyway, only reasons I'm buying this is because I actually like the look and color of tis case. I know I'm probably the only one that likes both. Not sure if the "professionals" tagline is called for but marketing is marketing. I used the original Vapor and an AR15, for a while but got tired of the GPS not working (my cell reception was always fine though).
We'll see how this one stacks up.
Slightly off topic: As for case collections, I counted over the weekend when I was moving some stuff around and I'm up to 43 (not counting this one). Oddly, I've only actually bought 6 of them personally and of those 6, 2 were the aforementioned Element cases (an Atomic, an Otterbox, and a couple of Candyshells are the others I"ve bought out of pocket). I really should start a youtube channel and do some type of giveaway nonsense or something to guarentee subscribers. Then again, I don't think I'm a pompous enough tool to sell out to manufacturers like most of the youtube "reviewers" out there who only promote products they get for free. End small rant.

Hold on.. these only come brown? One color? I cant get into their site, kept getting error message "BAD REQUEST"

I can even use it as a bottle opener when its still on my finger. That is a great idea to make a case out of that though...it would be crazy expensive but very cool. On another note, i got the email about this case this morning. it seems the price will drop after they sell out of the "1st edition" cases. I still dont like it though

I think the new case is a big improvement over the old design.
The only thing that will really kill sales is the fact that the iPhone 5 will be out in a few months and it's not going to have the same form factor as the 4. Apple fans are already looking to the 5 instead of how to improve the 4. I swore I wouldn't buy the 5 and now I'm online checking the all rumors that are flying around and eagerly awaiting all Mac anouncments............still, dam good looking case.

The reason this thread is still alive is because the mods delete/merge all the threads related to any Element case into this one.
Even though the Chroma and the Pro are different cases, the 2 seperate threads for them were deleted byt the mods.
Personally, a thread for the Pro would be a good idea. Whenever Element gets around to shipping my Pro (which will probably not be until next week even though I ordered on Wednesday) I'll try to make a new thread with pics and such but it will more than likely be deleted.
the past threads were deleted because reviewers were just posting links to youtube which by forum rules is spamming and not allowed. if a review is posted it must be a full review on the post not a link to other pages.
cant wait to see what you got, i like the element pro but wont pay 150 for a case, element doesnt send out review units either, or at least havent sent one to any reviewers i know.
Yeah I know about the youtube deletions but the 2 that were up about the Pro didn't have any in them. I posted in one a couple of days ago and it was gone hte next morning.
Same thing with the thread I made on the Chroma with a few details. They merged into this one and the post got lost. Not that the Chroma was worth a crap but it was something new. Considering that there are tons of useless threads about screen protectors and other repeating nonsense it just seems a little odd to me.
Also, you are right. Element to my knowledge doesn't send out review units at all. They have a partnership with a couple of sites for contests but my POC who gets cases for review distribution say she has never seen an Element case come through their office that wasn't bought by someone there. Unlike the other companies. What I find funny is you can always tell when a company sends out a batch of stuff to the "reviewers" on youtube as they all have promotional videos for said products at around the same time all saying basically the same thing.
When I get mine in (which still "awaiting fullfillment" on their site after 2 days and I know I am one of the first to order one) I'll post some pics. The only camera I have is my iPhone though so the pictures will probably be just of the packaging and the case outside the phone. I put in a request from my contact for a free camera that they got sent to review. Don't know when she is going to get it to me. I have zero plans to buy one as I only use my iPhone for pictures.
As for price, this case is probably going to be a waste of $150 for most people. I know that going in since it is really similar to the Vapor 4 but the additions and changes make it look so sexy to me for some odd reason. After the waste of money I spent on the Atomic (I hated the terrible fit of the cap and the edges are too sharp making it uncomfortable) and the units I got of most of the other alluminum cases didn't do it for me, I have high hopes for this one. I love my Vapor when I don't need protection (I use a Candyshell for that) and as I don't have cell issues with it, knock on wood, I'm pretty excited for this one. I hope it doesn't kill my GPS like the Vapor 4 does though. That is my main complaint on that case and makes it so I can't use it when on travel for work.
They are willing to send me one today if they have enough units left for review, they seem to be fixing up a lot of stuff, shipping faster, customer service, and stuff along those lines.
