Just read your updated review, I would concur with you that the price is very prohibited. It has put me off in purchasing one.

So I'm kind of tempted for the Vapor pro case, yeah its outragiously expensive but I'm leaning towards getting one.

I feel like I should chirp in here. I ordered bk/rd. Bk/or and bk/sl. They all looked really good. The red on the website didnt really match up with what arrived at my door. I sold it first and then the silver and kept the orange. It's important to note here that I ordered my red/ black first and a few days later ordered the other two, so red was my 1st choice. I kept the orange because it looks frigging awesome and I couldn't part with it. Let me say that I don't own anything orange. No orange shirts, ties or hats. I'm not an orange person but this Colour orange looks really, really good and I'm glad I ordered it. My Initail though was it would be up for sale same day but it ended up instantly being my favorite case. Just my 4.3 cents. We are all different. Look at some of my post and you will see a good varity of pics of all 3 Element Vapor Pro cases. I hope it helps.

I would probably go for the Black Ops or an all silver myself. I'm not a fan of the "half and half" look with two different colors. If you want to see more of the black and silver one I reviewed, I just added the link to my review in my signature. If I had to do it over again, I'd have gone with the all silver. It should hold up much better over time.

How so? Is the red deeper or duller?

I wonder how different the glossy vs the matte finish is as well. I'm really unable to determine the differences from the website.

For me a rough/matte finish is a way better than glossy and in hands it's feel awasome ...pure sex ....Have a glossy finish before ,but now after a matte/rough of blackops , I will never back to glossy

Agreed. It has more of a grainy blackboard sort of feel to it and feels brilliant to the touch. Wouldn't move back to a full on glossy finish either.

After deciding to RMA my Black Ops case, and having gotten the RMA number and all, I began the arduous process of deciding which case was going to replace the Element Vapor Pro on my phone. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't decide on one that had as much /appeal/ as the Black Ops. I didn't really want to go back to a plastic or TPU case after having had an aluminum case.

As such, I've decided I'll live with the GPS anomalies; if they bother me that much I'll just buy a cheap GPS unit. This way, I get to keep the Black Ops.

I put it back on my phone and couldn't be happier. Love the Black Ops case!

How bad is the GPS anomalies? I live in a city so I don't always have a completely clear line of site. Even with my current case, I'm off a block or a street off. I don't use the GPS all the time, buts handy when I do need it.

Using the case, I would routinely show about a block behind where I actually was. It was worse in city traffic where you're moving slower and there are more options of "where to go" than on highways where you're moving at a decent clip and it's pretty much in one direction.

For me, removing the case resolved the issue; but I like the case so much that I'm willing to have poorer GPS and/or buy a cheap GPS unit because 3G and wifi signals are NOT impaired with this case, and those are what I use the most. GPS for me was nice to have, and I can still use facebook/foursquare checkins, etc, but it was never the primary focus of my phone.

Just got the rd/bk. I use two 23inch calibrated Apple Cinema displays and agree that the images don't necessarily reflect the actual product.

The actual product is a bit deeper than the website photos. In my opinion, the website photos are closer to a Ferrari red while the actual product is closer to its description of a blood red.

I really like the color and it pairs well with black.

red usually does and given that its closer to a blood red then to a ferrari red, makes it all the more appealing, and of course hard to decide.

Here's a hand-polished replica spectra - I got one just to experiment on it. The polishing job isn't perfect (someone else can finish up better I'm sure) - I'll let it go for $36 shipped if anyone wants it.


I have no issues with this case except I didn't like that the red is too pink so hence the polishing I'll be getting another one in silver/silver.

it's plastic, I'd just ordered another knock off of all black with transparent cap due to elementcase not offering customisation yet.

Even if they do eventually, it maybe too near to the unveiling of the new iphone and I'd lose interest in this phone lol

Previously sold off my all silver and red/grey combo knock offs

The Main cons of the knock offs are that the 2 halves would not fit flush with each other as you can see AlvinNguyen's picture, and I'd this issue for my red/grey too

White iPhone 4 Vapor Element Pro

I ordered the silver/silver Vapor Element Pro for my white iPhone 4 and after putting it on, it looked pretty nice, so I thought I'd post some pictures just in case anyone was considering this combo. In my opinion, it looks fantastic...that's just my tastes though.

just got a Vapor 4 silver/silver ordered from ebay (here's the link http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...578244&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_3429wt_907)
And after several reads in this post, it was an obvious fake.
First of all, the slide in didnt even "slide in" properly, and the "carbon fiber" back plate is just a f@#%ing sticker that looks like carbon fiber and has 3M logos all over it.
Obvious screw up whereas in the listing says "100% authentic..." should have known coming from Malaysia with a 50$ price range...
I am about to have a major ****** fit with this seller for false advertisement...

Well, at least i still have my ORIGINAL black ops edition...

Only reason i bought the silver/silver was because i have the white iphone 4 and i thought it would look better... Which it did, but it was fake.
